I was hoping this place would be good. Stopped in to order two pizzas to take home on a Thursday around 5:30. Prime dinner time. I ordered one large margherita pizza and one large buffalo chicken. However, I was told that I had ordered a pizza containing the one ingredient they were out of: basil. So no margherita pizza. Ok– I picked an alternative. I forget the name but it involved tomatoes. I was told to come back in 20 minutes and the pizza would be ready. 20 minutes later I come back and wait a while. Finally the server comes out and says that actually they are out of tomatoes. She tells me the pizzas are all made up, except for the tomatoes. She wants to use red pepper instead. I don’t love red pepper, but I’m getting hungry and need to take dinner home for the family. So red pepper it is. She tells me it will be 5 more minutes. 20 minutes later the pizza is finally done. $ 38 for two pizzas, so it better be good. It wasn’t. In fact, it was terrible. I don’t know what they used for tomato sauce, but it tasted like the tomato sauce on that square school lunch pizza from the 90s. The buffalo chicken pizza was overcooked and contained no buffalo sauce. Just the gross tomato sauce. I’m not sure why I’m giving two stars, but I guess I am reserving one star for the truly horrific. This was close though, especially given the price. Won’t be back.

Stopped through Augusta wanting pizza on the way back to Portland from ANP. Good food and friendly staff. Had a lot of choices for by the slice. No sides yet but they are working on that. Could get salads and chips.

I really, really want to like this place. I really do. I swear. They just make is so dang hard! I’ve had the pizza once. It was good. It made me think of Flatbread in Portland. It was tasty. But the service was terrible(and they don’t even have waiter service)! Despite this, I was determined to give it another shot. That shot came just the other day, and boy did they fail. Five of us were meeting for lunch on a Friday, and decided to give Kennebec Pizza Co. a visit. We stood waiting for almost ten minutes before the person out back could come take our order. When we could finally order, we attempted to order two large pizzas but were told that they only had enough dough for one. Let that sink in for a moment. Kudos to them for making their own dough, but it’s a pizza place! Kennebec Pizza Co. only makes pizza. How is it that they did not have enough dough for two large pizzas at 12:30pm on a Friday?! Instead of ordering, we walked out and went to The Liberal Cup down the street. I’d rather go with a locally owned place than a franchise on almost any given day, but places like this sure do make that difficult.

Love this pizza here! It’s delicious and hits that pizza craving spot. Love that they’re open late in case we get late night cravings. Prices are very reasonable.

I had the pizza once. It was good. Unfortunately, the service stinks. We were the ONLY people in the place last night and were told they can’t even start our pizzas for 30 minutes because they had phone orders to fill. They turned away my family of 6 without blinking an eye. Again, we were the ONLY people in the place and took this as a direct insult. Needless to say, I will give up pizza before I give them my business, or try to before they turn me away again. Luckily there’s limited competition or they’d be in trouble.

Only place in the area with good pizza. Smallish eating area, more of a takeout place. There are a couple of tables for eating in though. Real New York style pizza. They use fresh ingredients, real mozzarella etc.

This is by far the best pizza in the area. They make the dough, sauce and mozzarella. This pie is fresh and delicious. My only complaints would be the crust was not as crisp as it could be, perhaps the oven wasn’t up to temp yet. It also seemed they should have let the dough rise longer to break down the gluten. These are all moot points given the quality of the pizza in the area. This is not your greasy loveless pizza from some odd house of pizza house this is all top notch. The restaurant is in a nice old building with a vault, which seems standard in Hallowell restaurants. The employees are pleasant and seem to take pride in their pie. They sell slices which is a tremendous help as I don’t like ordering a whole pizza. I wish they were a little larger, I like to fold. The only people who are doing it right.
