One of my favorite places to shop! So many treasures and perfect gifts found here! Christmas shopping in the summer! Yes!!!

Very small very limited and unfortunately the only local/closest place unless you go to another small one in Pacifica or larger one in Mountain View

This gift shop was the perfect place to take my teenage daughter during our stay in HMB for her birthday. She has just sparked her interest in meditation to help her anxiety and depression, this place has such inspirational gifts and beautiful little trinkets and treasures. We bought some books and incense, Tibetan peace flags and gems. So much to look at and the store keeper Sheila was so helpful and friendly!

I walked in looking to purchase a gift for my yoga teacher friend, and asked to see if they had anything geared toward yoga, anything really. Some«hippie»(read: trust fund douchebag) chick with horrible skin pretentiously explained what spiritual symbols of yoga mean and that if I wanted to find it that I should«you know, look around» as she then proceeded to walk behind the counter to pop bubble wrap and make fun of passerbys. Such ass hollishness, to be expected of course by anyone who works so hard at developing a spiritual persona, that they’re left devoid of an actual personality. Not coming back, you shouldn’t bother.

We stopped by Tokenz in search of souvenirs. The store has a great assortment of knickknacks but most of their products appeal to spiritual consumers. Jewelry, crystals, and the like could be found here. They have products for every price range, but most of them were on the pricier side. The staff were ready to answer our questions but did not mind us just browsing around. In the end, nothing really caught my daughter’s eye. But for crystals and other interesting bric-à-brac needs, Tokenz is a good place to browse.

This shop is located in a coastal town, off highway 1, in Northern CA — high prices are excepted. What I didn’t expect was to be insulted within a few feet inside the store. I have been to this store twice before, spending over $ 50 dollars each time. Who I assume is either the owner or a manager, because I’ve seen her taking inventory and directing other employees on previous visits, made a crude comment towards my hairstyle. She said, «glad you decided shave the side of your head so you don’t have the lice problem anymore». When I half laughed at her comment and said, «Awww, cute» she continued and said, «no, it’s not.» I can handle comments about my life choices, hairstyle or really pretty much anything but walking into a store that promotes itself as «the Tokenz team has steadfastly focused all of its energy on providing our customer the best shopping experience possible». EPICFAIL. Felt the energy all right, took my non-lice head, and left.

A cute little shop but their crystals are overpriced.

This store has such a lovely variety of spiritual gifts and trinkets. Their perfume oils are especially nice and reasonably priced. They also had a whole room filled with beads. Lots of eclectic jewelry and stones. I loved the vibe of the whole store. Most of all the staff was so friendly and incredibly helpful. I wish I knew the name of the girl who helped us, because she was really sweet and had such an uplifting energy!

This is an adorable little shop. Lots of great gifts and home items. The clothing here is a bit more expensive but everything here is completely my vibe. So crafty and cute. You can even make your own necklaces. Love it!

I bought gorgeous glass hearts for my wedding chuppah from Tokenz. The owner was beyond helpful and such a pleasure to work with. We were very thankful for her help and love how the decorations turned out!

Tokenz is a really nice spiritual store which has some legit artifacts as well as nice ornamental novelties. It’s a good place to window shop and also come in and find some impulse buys. The staff is friendly and the vibe of the store is very liberally calm and chilled out. You’ll find something here you want, but maybe not need, so it may be hard to refrain from buying stuff that you like visually. I’d say indulge and treat yourself to something good. It’s always nice to support the local merchants at small retail neighborhoods like this. I think this place is also the perfect GIFTGIVING store where you can shop and buy for others and for people who seemingly have everything, so you want to find something with character and that is unique. You may find it here so check it out!

It’s a bit shabby and had a weird odor upon entry, but it all fit into the general vibe of the store. I spent a good 10 minutes playing around with the mood rings, but ended up not purchasing anything. I guess deep blue meant I was in a frugal mood.

This is one of those spiritual places you walk into and think… what am I doing in here? Well, just put that thought aside and have fun. My favorite room was the back room with all the cute items, such as earrings, toys, beads, postcards, etc… We picked up some dried sage to clense our apartment. Supposed to get rid of any spirits that may be roaming around. Yes I believe in ghosts, and don’t want any hanging out in my apartment. Plus the bonus is it smells good. Need to try out their incense, but first have to finish my others. Overall, cute shop, somethings I can’t afford, but that goes for most stores I ever walk into.

Very hippy-dippy, psychedelic shop in the main downtown of Half Moon Bay. We got 8 incense sticks for $ 1… highly recommend the coco-orange flavor! Everything else seemed like the kind of thing that maybe your Deadhead cousin would appreciate for a Christmas gift, but nothing necessary or, really, useful. Lots of colorful scarves… oh, and a really cool giant abalone shell!

Can’t believe I hadn’t set foot in this shop before! According to the cheerful owner, it has been on Main Street for 21 years! She mysteriously said that I may want to check out their back room because I would find it «interesting and useful.» My daughter and I spent most of the time in that most useful back room. This is a little kid’s paradise! Anything and everything tchotchke-ish could be found here. Miniature fisherman earrings. Shrunken skulls. Teeny tiny little blank books(appropriate for any mouse who wishes to do journaling). Small glass turtles, frogs, gummy bears, ladybugs, etc.(For those of you who are therapists — this is the place to stock up for your sandtrays.) The front part of the shop is geared towards those of us who aren’t kids. Lots of crystals, beads, imported whimsical items, felted wool things — great spot to pick up a gift!

Eclectic — that’s the one word that comes to mind for this store. The front of the shop is dominated by jewelry — tons and tons of sterling silver, bead, and natural stone pieces. There’s also a fair amount of rough stones(citrine, amethyst, & quartz mostly) as well as sone tumbled/polished and even some neat carved ones(in one of the display cases, see photo I posted). There are some clothing items and other trinkets, and in the very back, a small separate room full of beads and other crafty stuff. And some very weird shit(see the other photo I posted… jars of plastic babies… what the frig?!). I guess variety really is the spice of life…

We came into this store twice. The only real complaint I have is the overwhelming scent of incense. There is an eclectic mix of wares here and pretty much something for everyone at this store. Unlike the owner at Hey Jude across the street, the owner here was super friendly. I was able to find a cute bracelet that reminded me of my husband(playing cards) that I picked up for about $ 20. Some things were a bit overpriced and some things were perfect. I would come back if I were in the area again.

Not been Unilocaled since February 2009? That can’t be good … Look: Tokenz is probably not a place where customer service will win any awards, but the folks here let us wander the place for at least an hour today w/out saying a word. A word! Personally, I LOVE this. There are so many funky and unexpected things here. It’s a journey of discovery, so go it alone and see what happens. What do you want, my high school friend, Jerry K., used to say. A cookie? You won’t find any cookies here but there is quite a bit of other stuff, some senseless but a lot sublime and even a little bit sacred: stones, incense, jewelry, glass baubles, clothes, beads, bags, scarves, séance gear, painted turtle avatars, plastic skull heads, wind-up Catholic nuns, Buddhas, candy canes, metallic phish(I mean, fish), an awesome Christmas tree and ornament display, aboriginal items, native American goods, etc. etc. etc. It’s all weird and good. It’s all here. And they don’t really care if YOU get it or not. That’s so not the point. Quite possibly, the customer does not come first at this place, and maybe that ain’t such a bad thing. But if you give a little, you’ll probably get something back. Once the staff saw that we were ready to buy, they were nice and friendly and offered us advice about other places of interest in HMB. We left with some incense, a magnet, and a few little glass pieces for the house. Nice. Inexpensive and nice. Don’t come here expecting a tour guide to show you around. They can smell a tourist a mile away. I’ll bet that they see ten people come in and browse w/out buying for every one person who leaves with something to take home. So take a chance and get lost looking at this unusual stuff. Here it is all about the order of the things. Les mots et les choses, as Foucault would have said. We miss you, mon ami poststructuraliste!
