After years of dithering with my not curly/not straight, now greying hair and too many unsatisfactory haircuts(granted budget cuts) I needed a change. I booked with Cindy for a colour and cut… took a deep breath and turned myself over to a pro. It is hard to explain how happy I am with what she did and how much easier it has made my life! The harbor, the boat, the seagulls, the seals, etc., are a bonus… I love what she does!

What a find! Cindy is terrific. I had some bad experiences with high priced marginally competent people on the peninsula and then a friend referred me to Cindy at Princeton Waters. Get my hair cut on a boat? Well this houseboat is a fully equipped salon and Cindy is exceptionally talented. She dealt with the complexities of my hair and it came out great. The setting is tranquil and beautiful and the personalized service and friendly atmosphere make the drive worth every minute. Plus online booking makes it easy. Oh and get some fish chips or crab at one of the nearby seafood restaurants, then watch the fishing boats, sea lions and gulls and you have a great experience at Princeton Waters.

For the first time in my life, I can honestly say that I truly enjoyed my first experience with a new hairdresser! At the Princeton Waters Maritime Salon, Cindy and her husband have done a wonderful job fixing up the small boat that holds the salon. It’s bright, beautiful, oak wood-paneled, really quite lovely. I didn’t know what to expect for my first appointment, so I was very pleasantly surprised when I arrived at their slip in the harbor. Ladies, you know how you always wonder if you will have a hard time boarding a boat and wonder if you’ll fall and make a total fool of yourself? :) No worries about that with this boat — it’s easy as pie to board, with big sturdy wooden steps. Getting my hair washed was also fun — you actually lie down on a very comfortable pad while Cindy washes your hair in the boat’s sink. It was really relaxing! Cindy was a total professional — since it was my first appointment with her, she took lots of time to ask me about my routine, how I like to wear my hair, how often I color it, what I expect from her, etc. It was a joy to sit there while the boat was gently rocking while listening to the harbor’s gulls and other sounds while my hair was being done. I also noticed that Cindy does mani’s and pedi’s, so I am going to try her for my next pedicure — the setting is much more relaxing than my usual nail salon. I was very happy with my cut, Cindy’s professionalism, and having a chance to visit the harbor… it was a joy to experience and I am looking forward to going back.

I actually look forward to getting my hair done — my husband and I make a day of it in Half Moon Bay. I ask you, how many people can say that they got their hair cut and styled(me) while watching sea lions frolic in the water while pelicans dive bomb right behind that you can see in the mirror. And not to mention the beer or the glass of wine that is on the house. Okay, now you are wondering about her skill set as a hair stylist — Cindy has years of experience and takes her time. I have always loved what she has done. I live in Cupertino and it is always worth the trip. She is also very congenial and a joy to spend a few hours with! I am about to make my next hair appointment on the web, which also makes the processes nice and easy!

I had a wonderful experience in Cindy’s floating salon! It is very clean, and of course has the great view of the harbour from any angle. I appreciate that she offers clean tee shirts to wear under the cutting cape, so that you don’t get your own shirt sweaty during your cut. I was also impressed with how she’d modified the boat to allow for a washing area. One thing to note is that you lay down for your wash. She had done a great job of making the unique wash area easy to use. The best part, besides her very reasonable pricing, is that Cindy is patient, skilled and a great listener. I went to her for the first short hair cut I have ever had, and she was very sensitive to my apprehensions. She did a wonderful job providing a cut that was a combo of several photos I brought. I was so pleased with my cut, and for only $ 40! What a value! I did a lot of shopping around before giving Princeton Waters a try, and on the coast side, you will not find a better salon.
