Jay Jones Tile Company

We have been extremely fortunate to have had Jay Jones do our tile installations in our Palo Alto home. Over the past 3 years we have hired Jay Jones Tile for three different jobs: a very detailed entire kitchen, a small but again extremely detailed bathroom with shower and a fireplace restoration.
His workmanship, his demeanor, his attention to detail, his patience and his fairness is truly first class. From the first day that I connected with Jay to the last day on the last job, Jay’s demeanor has been consistent, caring and very efficient. For our home we have had to hire many contractors; Jay is one of the few contractors that I can say really wears well and remains true.
Jay has the patience and knowledge to create an outstanding product that can withstand the scrutiny of the most discerning critic. He is honest and uses computer software –which allowed me to see the entire layout of each job. I was able, using his diagrams, to construct for myself a very useful 3-​D model. He REALLY listened to what I wanted and he thought ahead to problems that could occur that I wasn’t aware of (even explaining to me that my car would be damaged if I put in it the amount of tile I was purchasing –he said he would pick up the tile from the shop; he never charged me for this even though it was a trip of 30 miles in each direction)
I could go on and on – he came on holidays and weekends to keep the project on schedule, he did an entire tile layout on the floor to make sure the veining in the ceramic tile looked real. Jay’s job is amazing, it’s on schedule, he’s fair and he is PASSIONATE about his work.

I recently renovated my bathroom, floor and shower area. I hired Jay Jones Tile. It’s easy to find beautiful tile nowadays, but not so easy to find someone to install it who is also a perfectionist. At the advice of my contractor, I interviewed several companies, and of the three I hired Jay mainly because he gave the impression of being honest, reasonable and experienced. He exceeded my expectations in all ways. Jay’s cost was on the low side, and his workmanship was superb. I felt he listened to what I wanted, and went the extra mile to make sure everything was perfect. There were some intricate inserts, some complicated patterns, some water damage under the old tile, and everything was made perfect and now looks great. When the project starting running a bit late, Jay came on a Saturday and on Memorial Day to finish on-​time. He did everything on the tile, from recommending tile companies, to doing the tearout, to picking up the tile, installing it, matching pattern to be aesthecially pleasing, & tearing out small bits that didn’t meet his expectations (they looked fine to me). Jay always answered every question I had with infinite patience. I give Jay a full five stars, well earned.
