I think our library staff is tops! Well done team and thank you for your consistent hard work.

I personally don’t like the Half Moon Bay library because it is very small. Also because it’s right next to a school in the afternoons it’s full of loud kids and is a terrible place to study or concentrate. There’s no where to go that is quiet because it’s so small. However, the staff is very helpful and nice from my experience.

In the last two years this library has changed, it is no longer a «library». It now resembles a day care center with teenagers talking loudly, eating and using their cell phones. No longer is there a quiet room for patrons who have come here to look and find books –not to talk and eat. These young patrons need a class on library etiquette ASAP.

Loud. Not a library. A community center with people talking on cell phones. Running around. There is not a place to sit quietly and actually read. Also de facto free daycare and video game arcade. Such a shame.

Nice place. It was rather noisy inside… well used by lots of kids… so I went outside to work on the patio. I like the patio space.

Although I know this cozy library will someday be replaced by something bigger and possibly better, I will miss it when«progress» happens. The selection is carefully considered and there is of course interlibrary loan. The excellent librarians set the tone for a friendly community locale, and the space for reading magazines is nicely designed. Donate your used books to the«return when done» collection — a wonderful feature!

Nice little library and nice staff. Great automated checkout system. It is amazing what can be done even when our government keeps taking funds away from our libraries.

Perfect sized library for the small, beautiful town of HMB. Due to me being computerless after moving away from home, I would come here at least once a week for a 3 month span. Legitimate Dell desktops, nice selection of DVDs and CDs and the front desk attendants were even kind enough to let me print my Sharks tickets out in PDF form from their computer. Only warning I give adults who can’t stand children… Stay AWAY from here between the hours of 230 – 5(adolescent after school hang out spot).

I agree with marissa n.‘s comments about the HMB library. They do a great job with very little space, money, resources(well, very little of anything, really). Kids can make cute crafts on Saturday mornings. I love the summer reading program. The staff here are very helpful and nice. I’ve never lived in a place that had a Bookmobile, and I’m glad there’s one here on the coast. This is a very small community, so we can use all the extra books we can get!

This small library does an amazing job serving the coast. They offer a story time on Saturday morning at 930 for the ninos. They also have a story time at 1130 on Mondays. These are great free events for kids. They also serve the smaller coastal towns with the colorful book mobile. I love perusing books in a purple motor home. Check it out.
