This is the second time I have used Summit Insulation. The cost was substantially higher this time and the result mediocre. They are now using deceptive selling practices and fail to honor their commitments. The quality of their work is below average. I had to both help and provide equipment during the installation and subsequently have spent more than 24 hours cleaning up the work they did perform. I discovered yesterday that while they said they hooked up my bath exhaust vents to the ridge vent, in fact it never happened and they failed to use the flap to prevent insects, etc. from coming back into the exhaust fan. They failed to confirm that there was airflow in the attic and I now have a potential mold issue. They charged me quite a bit more to perform an air seal on the attic so I would get a substantial BGE rebate. The auditor came out prior to the work and never returned. When I followed up with Summit they blamed it on me that the exhaust vents were not vented properly. I explained that their crew did the work so how is that possible and they then told me that they no longer participate with BGE due to the complexity. Long story short — I’m screwed out of the rebate, but I had to pay Summit for the«air seal». It was straight fraud. They knew they were not going to participate with BGE long before I signed the contract for the work. Stay away from these guys. Joe in Towson

We had Summit Insulation inject foam insulation around our entire house. What was advertised as a «blanket of insulation» instead turned out to be an over $ 3000 expense with little value. Our house is as cold and drafty as ever.

So I first discovered Summit at the Parkville fair. I gave them my information and they contacted me and came by for a home consultation. I was originally interested in just getting my attic insulated, but they insisted on giving me a 30 minute presentation explaining to me that what I really want, is there flow in insulation that they install by drilling holes in the side of your house. The price the guy quoted me seemed very high, but I was still open to seeing what we could work out. He indicated that the first step before anything though, was getting a home energy audit for $ 100. I agreed, and he said someone from their office would call me to schedule this. Well, that was last September. At this point, it has been 6 months, and I NEVER received any follow up of any kind.
