Just went there for Chicken taquitos. They were delicious. They were accompanied by guacamole, lettuce, sour cream and pico de gallo. Would both repeat and recommend.

I have been eating at this place for a few years now. By far my favorite dish is the steak tacos followed by the ground beef tacos. I usually get 4 beef tacos and 1 steak taco. Spiced up with the hot sauce they provide gives an extra kick. I like to get churros to finish the meal.
After digging out two cars, it was the perfect meal. And our delivery guy, Raphael, is a cool guy. Very friendly and super helpful.
My gf loves to order the chicken nachos.
I’ve also had their rice and black beans which were delicious but this meal was filling enough.

My Spanish friend had recommended me to try this place because I love Mexican food. I ordered the Rotisserie chicken meal the first time for lunch. The food was really good and the chicken was properly seasoned. I tried to order the second time, but whoever picked up the phone was very sick and sounded very bad. So I waited an extra week to order again.

Great text mex, pupusas were off the menu but they offered to cook some for me tomorrow. Buying 20 of them tomorrow to take back to the office for the troops. Enchiladas and quesadillas were fantastic.

Don’t think too much just go explore yourself this down to earth great kitchen!

Love this place. The fajitas are awesome. I usually get the steak. The nachos are fantastic. So is the rotisserie chicken. Not to mention, Daniela who works there is nice & super helpful & friendly. I hate to admit it but I eat here way too much.

The nachos were really good! Large portion size. Hope to come back for the chimichanga.

Very good food at a very reasonable price! For $ 11 you can get a heaping amount of fajita fixings that can make at least 2 meals! Their steak is so delicious and mouthwatering! I have tried the steak burrito also and recommend getting it. The only downside to the burrito is it does not come with any sides like beans or rice.
I have ordered from this restaurant for delivery and they took 1.5 hours to deliver one time, which was RIDICULOUS. So be sure to order way ahead of time or tell them you need it quickly. When I ordered and went to pick up the food another time it only took 30 minutes, so try to pick up the food if you can. Overall the food is great quality Tex Mex food and is a favorite of mine for lunch.

Not many Mexican restaurants I know that actually deliver a quality meal.
Pork and beef tacos were delicious. The shrimp and chicken fajita were grilled perfectly and the ¹⁶⁄₂₀ shrimp were a big surprise to see. Guam, black beans and Spanish rice, all included, were spot on. Would recommend and will use as another delivered meal option in the near future.

A bunch of us from lab nearby decided to order lunch. I ordered chicken quesadilla with churro. Quesadilla comes with cheese inside and quac+mild+sour cream on the side. Pretty good deal for 7.50, churro is 1.25 for a long one.
I thought food was good and filling, and it was only 8.75 all total.
Only complaint is that delivery took wayyy too long. We ordered at 12:20ish and the guy got here around 1:45. Not very satisfying experience. We were starving and ended up taking lunch breaks around 2.

I am baffled by the four stars this restaurant has. Ordered form here twice, both times were completely disappointing. The five dollar chips and guac gets you half as much guac as chipotle with twice the far inferior chips. The chimi: i ordered both times, once with «pork» that was burnt and dry and terrible, hard little bits like dog food, once with chicken which was passable but flavorless. Idk how making such terrible food took over 30 minutes when I called ahead, got to the place, and it was empty. I know there is no good mexican in Arbutus but damn y’all shouldn’t settle for this.

Ordered delivery @ 8:30 was told they do not take credit cards after 8p and would have to pay cash, OK, I was told 30 mins but the food was never delivered!
They had my cell and I had no missed calls

This place is carryout essentially. Wanted sit down service not a McDonald’s experience. Placed order and when I asked for regular water they said they only had bottled water.
Realize everyone’s entitled to a profit but Mexican food is spicy and water should be provided. Next time I’ll bring my own hydration system.
Didn’t look like I missed anything special but since so turned off by their policy; simply walked out the door

This is a tiny place that is usually empty but that is only because people are missing out! I’ve never been disappointed. The shrimp burrito was my go to but I switched it up and got a salad today with fajita meats. It was amazing!

Peruvian rotisserie chicken sat in window quite awhile i guess before i ordered it cuz when I got home 2 min away it was dry as heck. And I know my Peruvian chicken places …

I’ve been wanting to try this place due to the other reviews and of course my love of Mexican food!
The ordering process is pretty straight forward, approach the counter and order. The dining area isn’t huge but they do have a few tables if you like dining in. I ordered chicken fajitas and chips with guacamole for a starter. They don’t have fountain drinks or alcohol but do have a cooler with cold, bottled beverages.
The chips and guac came out on a plastic plate. The chips were good, not great and the guac was fresh, but bland.
My fajitas were next, also served on a plastic plate, but tasted great. A nice portion of chicken, onions and peppers were plated alongside spanish rice and black beans. The rice was also bland.
The green paint on the walls is hideous and the hand painted woman, cactus and taco cloud are dreadful. Just a simple nuetral color would be a huge improvement.
Plastic plates and green painted walls won’t prevent me from returning though, I will go back as the food, although not heavily seasoned, is pretty good and the prices are in line with the portions.

I couldn’t find parking so I just went across the street and parked at the Convenience Mart. Bought some snacks and drinks from the place then asked if I could leave my car there for a bit. Guy nodded his head. Cool.
So I go inside and 2 out of the 4 or so tables were occupied so it seemed busy. The guy working there looked a bit tired, I’m guessing hangover from the night before. All good. I ordered 2 Beef tacos, 2 Steak tacos and an order of Shredded Beef Taquitoes with a 20 ounce Sprite.
I waited for a bit while watching the Ravens going against the Bengals. I saw the guy working there pick up some old plates on the other table, went back and 1 minute later called me out for my food.
When I saw what my food was on, it was the same exacts plates the guy picked up at the other table. I got the 2 plates, put em on the table, inspected them and it was clearly just rinsed because there were still a couple pieces of what looked like semi-​fresh rice and lettuce stuck to the plate… It’s okay though.
The tacos were just tacos to me. Generic soft tacos and there was almost no difference between the Beef and Steak tacos, only that they were in different shapes.
Meh.
BUT, I mean BUT, DEM TAQUITOES WURR DEELISHIS. I don’t know what they did to those Taquitoes but from the slightly flakey and crunchy crust to the moist, tender and flavorful beef inside then mixing that up with the guacamole, MY GOSH. I should have gotten 3 orders of those instead. In fact, the next time I go there, I’m ordering at least 3 orders of those Taquitoes.
The Taquitoes were clearly the winners there.

I don’t review much these days but I have to take a moment to write a positive review for these folks. After living in Arbutus for almost 8 months (4 very pregnant and 4 with an infant) we finally decided to venture out in the area. I am a huge Mexican food lover so that was the first thing I searched for on Unilocal.Cactus Silvestre came up in the results, along with a couple of other places. We decided to give it a shot one night.
We found easy parking within a block in «downtown» Arbutus. When you walk in, you won’t be particularly impressed with the place. It’s basically a carry-​out counter with a few tables set up. Since we don’t get out much we decided to stay and eat there anyway. It was a good call.
He ordered the steak chimichanga and I ordered a shrimp quesadilla. We also got an order of 2 steak tacos to split. Our order was ready in less than 10 minutes, and everything was delicious. We asked the gentleman at the counter if there was any hot sauce (hint: it’s in the ketchup bottles on the counter). After pointing this out to us, the man, who we think is the owner, brought us out a small container of hot sauce that he makes himself. SO GOOD!
They don’t offer fountain drinks, but they do have a well stocked fridge of sodas, juices, and iced teas. We got a ton of food and 2 drinks for under $ 25. They also deliver, so we have since ordered delivery from them several times. They always tell us it will be 45 minutes. It has never taken longer than 30.
Best of all, THEY SERVE FUNNEL CAKES. Where else can you get funnel cakes year round?

If I could give this 4.5 stars I would. The only thing I would change is I want more yellow sauce!!!
But seriously. This place looks sketchy from the outside, but as soon as I walked in I knew it would be good. Everything smelled amazing, I could see everything being homemade in the back, it was clean and pleasant, no to mention the staff was incredibly nice. We got ½ of a Peruvian rotisserie chicken with plantains and yucca fries, as well as 2 chicken breast tacos, and a shrimp/​steak quesadilla. You can 100% tell everything is made in the restaurant. Everything tastes homemade (even the tortillas) and there are so many flavors in every bite. And we got a ton of food (we didn’t even finish half) for $ 22. Can’t beat it.
My boyfriend and I eat out all the time, and it’s a hobby to go to really nice, fancy places we see written up. I would consider ourselves to have very discerning palates. And I can honestly say this is AMAZING, authentic food and we will be BACK!
