I bought a bike from them two years ago. I swing by with my bike every few months to ask questions about it, and get a quick fix up by their bike mechanics. I’ve never once been charged for anything. Today I brought it in because I was having issues with my deraileur. I heard clicking when I would bike in second gear. It turns out that somehow the deraileur got shifted and I had grounded out some of the gears. The mechanic spent about 30 minutes working on it and fixed the issue. For free. The customer service is seriously fantastic(across all locations). You pay a slight premium for their bikes, but I think it’s worth it. I can bring my bike in nearly anytime and they’ll fix any minor problem – no questions asked.

Customer service here has gone down hill. We have been buying bikes for kids here for a long time. The last time we were in was to buy our daughter her first bike while she was giving it a test ride my son got on another bike one of the worker comes over and says are you buying this bike? we said no. he said he needs to get off the bike if your not buying it. Wow it makes me sick that my son had to experience such rudeness. Definitely last time we’ll be spending money there.

I was given great customer service at the Hales Corners location! Nick in the service department changed out a gear ratio to give my bike more speed and Pat in the sales department gave me some good tips on ski venues.

Every single time I have been to this store I have had poor customer service. Poor service means that if I deal with any of the employees under the age of 40 I get the feeling that a middle aged woman like myself who is seriously into biking(100+ miles per week) is utter dismisable. My elderly parents refuse to go back to this store as well for the same reason. This time I brought back a bike I had purchased there several years ago for an adjustment. The guy at the service desk was probably in his late 20s and made no attempt at greeting, eye contact or even pretense of interest. I explained my adjustment issue… a seat post that was difficult to work with as i was getting a professional fitting. The employee questioned who I was using for the fitting, dismissed my answer as unimportant, took the bike back like I was forcing him into a labor camp and made me feel as though I was wasting his very important time. By the time this exchange was done I was NOT happy and they will never see me again for anything. I went thru something similar when I bought this bike and I am just DONE.

I needed a new bike. I had the same bike since I was 14. it was cheap, heavy, and rusty. I also know nothing about bikes other than there are a million kinds. I went in to the store hoping to get a new bike for under 400. I spoke with Jerry, and told him I wanted a light bike for under 400, that had gears. He told me a hybrid sounded food for me, and showed me a Trek bike that was under my price range. He was really friendly and he did not even once try to make me buy one for above my price range. I really appreciated that. I chose the bike and bought a kickstand and seat and the service guys helped to out them on. After everything I decided to grab a water bottle holder and Jerry helped me put it on even though he didn’t have to. I also can bring my bike back for a free tune up in 6 months! I really had a good time at this Wheel and Sprocket and will continue to shop here in the future.

The worst customer service I’ve ever seen(in the service department). There are a few guys back there with some attittude like you’re putting them out by asking for service. It’s like pulling teeth. I wanted to order a tire, the service guy grudgingly took down the info and would get back to me. No one ever called back to tell me they found or didn’t find what I was looking for. Stick with cranking on the bikes in the back room and get some pleasant people out front manning the desk. I will not return.

One of the worst customer service experiences ever. I took time away from my day to visit this store. My home store is Delafield but this store is close to my office. I walked in the door and got a few looks and hellos but not one person asked me if I needed help. First failure of customer service. I slowly made my way to the shoe section, of which I am looking to purchase. I literally tried on 8 pairs of shoes and not 1 person of the 5 that passed by the shoe section stopped to ask if I needed assistance. Another failure at customer service. Needless to say, I will not be giving my hard earned money to your location. The first thing I did was go to the Delafield and let them know how bad the customer service was and let them know they definitely have all of my future business. As a matter of fact, the shoes I found will be transferred from the Hales Corners location so I can purchase at a superior store. It is too bad this store has such poor customer service knowing it is also the corporate office location. By the way, had I known Chris’ office was right around the corner, I would have personally spoke to him about this poor customer service experience. If Chris would like to talk, I welcome it.

I have always had issues with this Wheel and Sprocket. The customer service is beyond poor, frankly I don’t even knows if it exists. I’ve been in this store numerous times, sometimes over 20+ minutes and wasn’t even greeted or approached to see if I needed help. It sucks because this is such a large store with plenty of inventory, but the staff just isn’t very attentive. Last time I was there I overheard one of the workers talking to another one at the check out on how she was planning to treat customers poorly from now on. I don’t know if she was joking but that’s just not something you say when someones in ear shot, save it for the break room. Don’t let this review condemn all the Wheel and Sprockets, I’ve had great experiences with their Brookfield and Fox Point stores. Hales Corners however is one you should pass up.

Visited Wheel and Sprocket with a friend who is thinking about purchasing a Bike and to have some wheelchair wheels fixed up! The Sales Staff was knowledgeable and patient with my friend. My experience with the repair staff was as outstanding as usual. When I got home I already had an email telling me my wheels were ready. Wow! That was quick. So my friend and I are going back tomorrow. I’ll get my wheels and maybe he’ll actually decide on a bike!

It’s hard for me not to like Wheel & Sprocket. I bike and I cross country ski and they offer everything I need to do both sports. Four years ago, I went in to buy a new bike and the salesperson let me try out lots of models in the back parking lot – and then patiently waited while I went back and forth between riding two of the bikes while I tried to make up my mind. The whole experience was great. I ended up spending more than I planned, but I own that decision. Once I experienced how the higher-end components shifted like butter, I was smitten with the better bike! As for cross-country skiing, Wheel not only has everything from skis to wax to clothing, but they understand the sport. No matter what my questions about ski wax and waxing, they have the answers. Their selection is great, they’re really knowledgeable and friendly, and it sure is nice to be able to find everything I need all in one place.

We bought new mountain bikes this summer to ride the local trails and to take to stores/bars/restaurants near our house. Our salesperson at W&S was very friendly, helpful and somewhat knowledgeable(he was new). We ended up purchasing our bikes from him and went home satisfied. After a couple rides, my husband’s bike starting making a strange noise when braking so we took it back to be looked at. Picked it up the next day, took it home and the next day it was doing it again. After several rounds of this, even replacing the brakes it still wasn’t correct. They offered to exchange his bike for a new one but they were sold out of the style he had so they game him a more expensive bike at no extra cost to us. We haven’t had any problems since. Although it was quite a hassle to keep bringing the bike back, the sales customer service was great(especially the owner) while those working in the repair area were less impressive but at the end of the day, we love our bikes and it was all worth it.

It’s a real shame. They have a nice place, with nice stuff, in a good location, but their customer service is beyond poor. You can have higher prices if you offer your customers better customer service, but not when it’s completely sub par.

I was recently in the market for the first new bike I had bought in years. I’ve been really craving the ride lately and decided to spend the $ 300 for a decent new bike. I looked around some internet sites to narrow down what I wanted and then decided to check out Milwaukee’s best-known local bike shop. The Hales Corners location is closest to my house, so I stopped in after work tonight and was impressed with the selection. I had a few relaxing minutes to browse the accessible and well-labeled hybrid bike area before a friendly and unpretentious salesman came to check how I was doing. I was pretty much ready to buy at that point, but he helped me navigate the slight differences in the models and get the right size. One short hour later, I was the owner of a new Trek 7100. Overall I was happy with the laid-back atmosphere, friendly salespeople, and selection. The one miss: they handed me the bike without offering to help me put it in my car. I like challenges, and I wasn’t really annoyed, but I figured some people would be. I am sure they would have helped me had I asked, but it seemed slightly strange when they didn’t offer. Other than that small matter, it was a great shopping experience and I would definitely go back.
