FTW!!! I am a mexican food snob when it comes to searching out places on island for AUTHENTIC mexican food. There are only a FEW places on this island and they are either small or they are like Tacos Vicente… a food truck. We first heard of Tacos Vicente at Eat the Street. They were always on our list but we never did get to try their food at the Eat the Street events. Finally, during one of our ministry outings, my honey decides«We’re in Haleiwa… let’s look for Tacos Vicente because on Twitter – they’re saying they’re open.» OHMMMMGEEE… try their Taco Platter. My daugher tried the Shrimp /Steak Burrito. MUYBUENO!!! And I’ll tell you… their soda selection is from Mexico and it just brought me back to when I lived in Yuma, Arizona and sneaking across the border to Mexico to go dancing in San Luis. But, that’s another story… Anyhow, food was great… price was right… service was excellent. If you are driving through Haleiwa, check them out. You’ll be glad that you did. Viva La Tacos Vicente!!!

I visited Tacos Vicente on a trip with a group of friends. We ordered the platter, and it was *awesome* — especially in comparison to the other food trucks in Haleiwa. If you like greasy, deep fried food that will ravage your stomach and make you sick for a few days, go to another food truck. If you like fresh & tasty food that will make you want to grab a to-go order for your next meal, Tacos Vicente is the place to go. Not only was the food great and an awesome value, but the owner was nice, personal, and friendly — he even came out of the truck when we were all leaving to say thank you & wish us well.

more like a 3.5. Finally got to try this place at the 3rd Eat the street rally and the line wasnt too bad, compared to the more famous food trucks, but as I waited the line behind me got longer so good thing I arrived a little before opening(5p). Anyway, since I just wanted to sample, I got their more«popular» al pastor pork taco. Wait was about 5 mins after ordering so not too bad. It came with 1 tortilla, perfectly grilled and still soft. The meat was tender and very flavorful, I also like that they put a thin slice of grilled pineapple on top to balance out the sweetness with the hot sauce(also choice of med) they put on top. That hot sauce was also pretty spicy and really good. Overall, i’d give them another try.

Prices are good, but other than that I feel Tacos Vicente is lacking on many levels. The first problem is that there is hardly any filling in their tacos; and the filling they did use was dry and boring. Another problem was they didn’t really add onions or cilantro, it was almost non existent. Their beans were simple black beans with no seasonings, etc. Their rice was dull and not prepared very well. Overall, the food just didn’t taste right. They were trying to be authentic, but they just couldn’t do it. At least the unauthentic flavorless salsa was hot… Big let down…

Ate here at the Eat the Street #2. Limited menu, no beef or chicken tacos available. Had the taco al pastor and the fish taco. They were serving a special salsa of pineapple mango habenero, which we were told had some pretty good heat to it. Ordered al pastor taco with hot salsa and the fish taco with the special salsa. Both came with the special salsa. BORING. The al pastor had some nice crispy bits from the grill, but no marinade or flavor to it. Same for the fish. Could not even tell what fish it was. Probably frozen from Costco. But no taste at all. Even the salsa had no taste and no heat. I finished both tacos and asked myself: «Did I just eat something? I can’t remember!»

Hit them at ETS #2 for the $ 3 al pastor(pork) soft taco. It was freshly made to order. The pork was flavorful w/pico de gallo(mild salsa, you may get medium or hot salsa). The primary reason I wanted to get a taco from Tacos Vicente is because it was supposed to be topped w/grilled pineapple. Unfortunately I only found 2 slivers of pineapple bits.

Vegetable and bean taco = yummy(& vegan friendly). Oh, and no crunchy«u» shaped shell here nice authentic open Corn tortilla with just the right crispiness. Didn’t think I would get good Mexican food here BUT I was wrong. I took my taco to go and now I want to go back for more.

What’s bright green, has 4 wheels and serves some tasty Mexican food? No, not Kermit the Frog in a pimped-out ’64 Impala. It’s Tacos Vicente, rolling around mobile-style on the North Shore and Windward side. On any bright sunny day, this vivid eye-catching truck will not only blind you, but will also serve you some savory tacos. On the way back from breakfast at Ted’s Bakery, I noticed this food truck parked on the roadside near Rocky Point. Hmm, what to eat for lunch? Duh! The menu is simple: Tacos A la carte $ 2 Burritos $ 5 Quesadilla $ 4(w/meat $ 5) Plate Lunch $ 6(2 Tacos w/your choice of meat w/rice & beans) Taco Platter $ 10 Meat Choices: Al Pastor(pork) Steak Chicken Veggie I was trying to decide what to order for me and my 9 yr old, when another customer politely recommended the Taco Platter. For $ 10, this build-your-own tacos platter comes with 8 tortillas, your choice of meat grilled with bell peppers, onions and cheese, salsa and lime. The menu says it serves 2 – 3 people, so I ordered this with steak and the Al Pastor tacos a la carte. This platter was more than enough for the both of us. The steak, onions, peppers and cheese had that great grilled smokey flavor that make these tacos really tasty. They have 2 sauces available on the counter, red hot sauce and avocado sauce. The Red Hot Sauce is creamy, smokey, tangy and really spicy. A little too spicy for me, but used moderately, it adds just the right amount of kick. The Green Avocado Sauce was my favorite. Also creamy and tangy with a mild green chili flavor, the bonus is the pleasing taste of avocado. This sauce is a perfect guacamole-like dressing for all things Mexican food. Working the order window, chef Axel Diaz and his«Al Pastor» are simply the BOMBA! Pork marinated in oregano, citrus and other spices then cooked in a unique vertical broiler; a pineapple placed at the top, allowing it to broil while basting the meat with its juice. These pork tacos are extraordinary, served up authentic Mexican style. Not Americanized by smothering them in sour cream, lettuce or cheese. Instead, garnished with just onion and cilantro with a side of fresh home-made salsa and a slice of lime. This is how a truly authentic taco should be — simple. I would follow this truck everywhere just to have these. As bright as the Hawaiian sun shines on the North Shore, so shines the future of this mobile Mexican taqueria.
