The pizza is fine! BUTWHERE do I start!!! Chicken Frances, Omg!!! «The chef» does not know how to cook that, it tastes like plain pasta swimming in chicken broth and lemon juice. Chicken Parmesan for my husband and eat only the chicken because the side of pasta in marinara sauce as he describes it, tasted like someone dropped it in the dish washer and then served it! Died calamari super chewy and taste less!!! Everything ended up in the garbage!!! If Unilocal had a that will be my rating; unfortunately I have to give them 1

Epic fail. Pizza tasted like spongebob bathed in sauce and covered himself in cheese. Yuck. Really bad. We were really disgusted by the pizza, never mind bad. It didn’t get eaten, now how can a pizza be so bad? Especially when a pizzeria has been in business this long. The calzone we ordered was RAW, seriously just uncooked dough, again, remains uneaten. My husband ate one slice and said«want to go out and get something else?» HIRE A NEWPIZZAMAKER who knows how to make pizza. Would never order from here again.

I don’t know what happened to this place. There food used to be good. I ordered a chicken parm sub. And I got a soggy rolled up burrito with hardly any cheese. The chicken was disgusting. It was like they had it sitting in the freezer for months. I ordered here for years and this past year and a half there food has gotten worse and worse. They used to make good subs here, bread toasted, fresh chicken cutlet, enough cheese. I should have taken a picture I kid u not. Very disappointed with this place. I keep trying to give them another shot to see if they hired a new chef. But I guess that’s not important to them. Loyal customer now turned x-customer.

Just absolutely disgusting. The service was horrible and rude and the food was disgusting as well. Ordered a sausage and peppers sandwich that was soggy, cold and had no flavor. NEVER going there again

Every local person for miles around knows this is the place to go when you want the best Italian food. No one makes a better calzone or fried calamari than these guys. If you haven’t tasted their food you must be an out of towner with no idea what you’re missing. I highly recommend stopping by or better yet getting it delivered right to your door. They always have specials so pick up a menu for the next time your in the mood for a pepperoni pizza with extra cheese. Yummy!

Their pizza and toppings are poor quality. On two occasions they got my delivery order wrong. But they are better than the pizza chains.

When I attended the local university, Big Jims was my go-to spot for good pizza. Brunos up past the hill paled in comparison. These guys do pizza right. I love ordering a large pie with sundried tomatoes, green peppers, and onions. SOGOOD. Yum. Miss this place.

Nice renovation on the outside but the food needs some major improvement as well… Pizza is bland sometimes and rolls have been raw and undercooked several times that I’ve ordered them.

It’s not the best pizza I’ve ever had, but it’ll do. It’s pretty hit or miss but I’ve never had anything *bad*. It’s close to my house so I order take-out. A solid 3-stars.

Horrible food!!! I came to Big Jims twice in my life. The first time I came, it was June 2014. My family and I order hot wings, 2 slices of pizzas and a calzone. The food cost us about $ 40.00. Sadly, it wasn’t worth it. The hot wings had skin on it and taste weird. The pizzas was burnt on the bottom and the cheese was overcooked. The calzone was half decent. It was dry and hard. The second time I been to Big Jim was 3 months ago. I decided to give it a try since every businesses have it’s bad days. Once again Big Jim betrayed me. I ordered Penne Al La Vodka. $ 10 for the piece of shit! Who ever made it threw tomato sauce with regular pasta. No cheese. No basil. No vodka sauce. Just sauce and pasta. Anyway, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. You will only waste your money.

Really good pizza at a great price, good customer service. Always busy and it’s convenient for me cuz it’s down the street and they have a large selection so ur bound to find something on their menu. The only thing was my salad was missing chicken on it. Will come back again tho

Its an OK place large menu selection and the staff are nice. But its nothing special and average food quality. The types of people dining there is what turned me off the most. Doubt I will come here again.

Standard NJ pizza joint. Big Jim’s has been here for decades. Standard fare, so you know what to expect. Food is decent as is price.

This place is most definitely not the Big Jim’s of a few years ago. We stopped in the other day for a Chicken Parmigiana hero. Stingy doesn’t even begin to describe it. They must have gotten at least six sandwiches out of a single chicken breast, since they now only give you a paper thin slice of chicken breast in the sandwich. And at first, we thought they had forgotten the cheese, but on closer examination, one side of the hero had a miniscule amount of cheese melted into the bread, and we do mean miniscule. Absolutely nothing like the sandwiches we used to get here. Basically just a bread sandwich with some tasty tomato sauce on it. We think the Blues Brothers would call this a «wish sandwich». At about $ 7.00 for the hero, they could do a lot better. Cheating your customers like this is penny-wise and pound-foolish. Sorry, Big Jim’s, but you’ve lost another customer. And after feeding me like this, they wonder why I bite the mailman. — Read all of our reviews at

When I lived in NJ, I came here or ordered here all the time. In fact, my elementary school had a deal where they had Big Jim’s deliver to them on Fridays for lunch. I liked the beef ravioli a lot; huge round mounds of goodness. The antipasto was always packed to the gills with various meats, and I really liked the chicken parm dinners came with a side order of pasta of your choice. Their customer appreciation week during the month of June I believe is great; while the portions are smaller, the price is really good for the variety of pastas they serve that week. Easy to feed a family on(which we did frequently). I knew a lot of people who worked here over the years, so it’s good to see them keeping it local. They also are pretty active in the community and always sponsored different events in town. I never turn down a slice if I’m in the area.

This place was right next to William Paterson University where I went to school and I like virtually everyone else ate tons of pizza in the dorms LOL. This was a regular place for me in college. With that said, everything here is solid but not spectacular. Nothing really stands out but nothing is that bad either. Pizza was good not great. Sandwiches were good not great. Went to the ‘Italian restaurant” area twice and had good but not great food The service can be a problem at times. If you simply yell or threaten never to order from here again, they magically seem to get your order right!(LOL) This is one of those places that’s a toss-up. You won’t be disappointed but you won’t be amazed either. You be the judge!
