Love the cow tongue tacos! They are amazing’. One of my favorite places to eat in Hagerstown! Staff are always friendly!

I love the handmade food here! The seating area is a bit cramped and I know that they are moving to larger accommodations soon. Hopefully«mom» will keep cooking! The service isn’t fast but this is not fast food either so enjoy one of the special juice drinks while you wait. You won’t be disappointed. My favorite is the fish platter. And the handmade tortillas are a bonus.

Me sorprendo que hay revistas buenas. Ando aqui para 40 minutos, y todavia andan haciendo mis tacos.

Reasonably priced, but food was just ok. They were out of pork for the tacos, so I had to get the chicken. Good collection of hot sauces.

Thank you, Unilocalers. Tried the lengua tacos, the Salvadorian tamale, and a couple of the pupusa. All super tasty. This is actually some of the best lengua I’ve had, because they cut it very small. Not fatty at all.

That lunch hit the spot and was a great deal. I got the beef tongue tacos and a cheese pupusa. Everything was delicious but watch out for that red sauce because it’s hot! I got plenty of food with a drink for less than ten bucks and it was fresh and delicious. I will definitely be returning.

Stopped here on a whim for a quick lunch. I ordered 3 pupusas for $ 1.50 each. One cheese, one cheese and beans, and one cheese and squash. You just can’t beat that. The Salvadorian coleslaw paired perfectly with the pupusas and came free of charge. Don’t be put off by the exterior or location. This place is delicious and a ridiculously great deal!

I am a bit torn on how to rate this restaurant. I would give it a 4.5 — not the best pupusas and horchata I’ve ever had, but still very yummy pupusas and horchata and probably the best place to eat in the area. I’m giving it a 5 because the owner was very, very kind and went out of her way to explain the menu to me, ask where I was travelling from, etc. This place is just off the I-70 and thus quite convenient for a hungry traveller(me), and it was only $ 3.00 for a pupusa with cheese, beans, and pork and horchata. The horchata was a bit sweeter than I’m used to — not bad, just different. The coleslaw salad for the pupusa was also sweeter than I’m used to, but again not bad, just different. I would definitely recommend this place if you’re passing through the area!

Stopped in for a quick lunch of chicken tacos and pupusas. Wow — fantastic flavors, great prices, and an overall fantastic lunch. This is a must-try. As a bonus, there is a little market with the same name on the corner as well.

This place is nothing less than wonderful! Don’t let the strip shop front fool you. This is food like you would get if you went to your Grandma’s house. This is not your basket of chips and salsa place! The pupusuas are excellent, love the side salad, tacos, are all wonderful. The price is so reasonable to boot!!!

I love this place! So happy to have a pupusa place in Hagerstown. The tacos are awesome, the tamales salvadorenos are savory, and the repollo for the pupusas is perfect. The lady at the register is extremely nice and easy to talk to; she is patient when explaining menu items to people that aren’t familiar with them. The food was ready quickly and it is very cheap. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for Salvadoran or Mexican food, or just to try something new while supporting a local, family owned business!

Flavorful, cheap, tasty food all around. For $ 8 you can’t beat the amount of food, and everything we saw come out looked amazing. Should have tried some of the soups, but that just means I’ll need to come back again. Very hole-in-the-wall atmosphere, quick and friendly service, and no one rushes you. Solid comfort food for a long road trip, a cold day, or something to top off a long week.

Not sure where these other people have eaten for a comparison, I was not impressed. Few meat choices. The beef wasn’t marinated at all. No pastor, carnitas, asada, chorizo, Adobada. No guacamole. The shrimp burrito was unflavored salad shrimp and rice. Maybe their salvadorian. Food is better but for mexican. It doesn’t cut it.

Great Unilocal find! Yuca con chicharron appetizer… excellent. Yuca ok. Dip good. Chicharron great. Side salad that came with it AMAZING. Tacos de lengua(beef tongue)…very good. My first time having beef tongue. Interesting. Tacos were very fresh, authentic & perfectly sized. Green sauce was very tasty. Red sauce is HOT, too hot for me, but the hubby loved it. Shrimp burrito… just ok good. Nothing bad, but nothing wow. Huge. Quite huge. Horchata…so good we ordered two extra to go. Great spot!

I have been eating a lot of Central and South American food lately. It’s comforting and I like the flavor profiles. Sure, it’s heavy on the starches but sometimes I splurge. Most places are also cheap eats too. I followed the Unilocalers and ate here last night. It’s a fun menu with papusa, tacos, tamale, and other regional dishes. I tried a sampler with a tamale, papusa, beans, plantain, eggs, sour cream, really thick tortillas and queso fresco. It was all good. I’ve had better of everything but it was all good and for $ 9 it’s hard to complain. A feast! I think they should serve it with real tableware though. They’re washing plates so they should just go ahead and wash silverware too. It’s a bit of a dive but it’s friendly and fun. I would go back and try some more.

Authentic as you can get. Don’t let the place fool you a small restaurant with few tables and chairs with many Latin American customers having their meals which tell you this is the place where they serve home cook meal just like mom’s place. I just love the taco simple but with such a fresh ingredients it is just delicious.

Great tacos. Tried the lengua and carne asada. Both were excellent! The horchata was so so, but I’m telling you the food and red salsa was awesome. These are the best Tacos I’ve found in the area. I definitely recommend that you give it a try!

El Eden has a very interesting concept, as it is a hole in the wall Mexican/Salvadoran food joint and coffee bar, as the name suggests. Appearance: Tinted storefront windows and dimly lit inside. Though the space is a bit rundown and sparsely decorated, it is kept clean. Bonus: the restroom was also clean. Staff: The cashier/waitress was polite though not overly friendly. She cleared our plates as needed and I noticed she was quick to bus other tables. Food: I really think the tacos de lengua(beef tongue tacos) are the best I’ve ever had! The meat was butter soft as it should be and they were topped perfectly with the usual combination of onion, radish, and cilantro. El Eden also adds a hint of guacamole, which was perfect with the very spicy hot sauce that comes on the side. BEWAREOFTHEREDSAUCEFOLKS! It ain’t Tabasco or Cholula, that sauce has authentic red chiles and it’s not for the faint of heart. Most places serve tacos doubled up on thin corn tortillas. Here only one tortilla is used that’s thicker than the usual taco tortilla but not as thick as a «side» tortilla. I like it. Not to mention the price is right at $ 5 for 3 hearty tacos. The tacos were so good I took an order of carne asada(grilled steak) tacos home to eat the next day. I didn’t like them quite as much as the lengua tacos but they were definitely good. The meat was tender and seasoned well, and came with the same toppings mentioned above. Drinks: The horchata had lots of cinnamon but was much too sweet for my taste. I also prefer it to have a grainier consistency but that’s purely a matter of personal liking. They have plenty of American soft drinks in the cooler(no fountain drinks) as well as my treasured Mexican Coke. Not sure how the coffee racket is working out, since one person came in while I was there specifically for an espresso drink and he was told they were out of everything. I would have never expected awesome blue collar Latin cooking way out in Washington County but if you’re ever outlet shopping(God knows there’s no other reason to be in Hagerstown) drive the extra 10 minutes and eat at El Eden!
