My husband and I are avid retro video gamers. We play everything from our TurboGrafix16 to our PS2.(Plus the new systems of course). We have a large collection of video games, but are often looking to add some of the games we remember fondly from childhood — that we either had as kids or wished we had as kids. We took the drive up to Hagerstown from Silver Spring to check out the collection at Cartidges Galore. It was relevantly easy to find and parking was a snap. The store is a little small(a lot smaller than say e-Starland, but about the same size as Press Start, if you are familiar), but they have it packed with retro games. The prices were excellent and fair. I loved the displays above the games showcasing old boxes and memorabilia. There was even an old Funcoland cd case… brought back great memories. This is a great place to look for that hard to find retro game.

Love this store! They have all the classic games and new games. They always offer more than GameStop and sell for less! Doesn’t get much better then that!

This place truly puts gamestop to shame when it comes to their trade in values. Why so? Because the values are not a blind rip-off. For Nintendo games, they offer quite fair prices, even on older games. This isn’t an exception though, all of their merchandise is adequately priced for buying, and trading in. Great selection, and for modern games the prices are also fair and not through-the-roof like at competitiors business’. The employees are friendly ENOUGH, and straight to the point without any BS on your business transactions. Nice location, nice prices, nice selection. All you could ask from a store offering the services that it offers. 4 stars instead of 5 because the hours of operation are so out of the ordinary that they seem to be completely random. As if the proprietor writes 7 days of the week on one slip, then completely random daytime hours on another(ex.1pm-7pm) and then scrambles them and proceeds to pick them out of a hat, matching a day to a random schedule.
