Freddy’s is one of the only places in the are that carries Omission, a wheat-based ‘gluten-free’ beer. Good prices and friendly staff as well.

We stop here sometimes when we go to Jo-ann fabrics across the street. I feel like I’m shopping for antiques when I buy liquor /wine in New Jersey… it’s usually that everything is a little more expensive than PA and then for some reason at this shop Baileys is $ 10 cheaper. Then the next place everything is like 10% cheaper except whatever the cheapest thing is that you would get. Like doubly-expensive pinnacle or something. It’s never a one-stop shop for me if I’m party planning with NJ liquor stores. Instead of being annoyed, I pretend I’m at a flea market or something. So this place is fully of ordinary to high-priced items, and then a handful of select, worth-it discounts. We get little bottle of Lemon Drop from here on clearance, but skip the DeKuyper. Their selection is pretty minimal, but I appreciate their whiskey/scotch section and their Champagne variety. It’s always freaking cold here. Like so cold. It’s colder inside than outside this winter, yes definitely. I want to leave because I am cold with my jacket on. Last time we were here we were overcharged $ 3 for something, but we noticed it when we walked out so we just turned around and said, «Oh hey, we were overcharged $ 3 on this item.» The man behind the counter was really rude and short about it.

Freddy’s is a local institution, having been at its present location since at least the 70s(maybe the 60s?) They feature a wide variety of wines and liquors and a decent beer selection as well. You won’t find the big selection of single-bottle specialty beers here, though, but for the average beer drinker you’ll find what you need… and maybe a couple of nice surprises. In recent months Freddy’s remodeled their layout and now offer even more wines. Prices are comparable to other private liquor stores in the area and the service is friendly and knowledgeable in making suggestions in your selections.

Truly, what a wine selection and duo of dudes working behind the counter. Nicer than other area liquor spots, cleaner floor. Better organization. I dig this place, if only it had the Steadman beer collection pack.
