Use to have to go to dover for good empanadas, then I found rico pan! They are the exact same great taste and much closer being in town.

Hidden gem in Hackettstown. Empanadas, both chicken and beef are wonderful. Don’t forget to ask for hot sauce. Rice and beans, tostadas and plantains are excellent sides with the chicken. Bakery has interesting and delicious breads and pastries. Skip the Sunday bagel and stop by Rico Pan. Saving the best for last. Tres leches cake. Sold by the piece, it’s a slice of heavenly deliciousness. Run, don’t walk to this local business. You won’t be disappointed.

Great little Colombian bakery serving fresh baked goods and typical prepared hot meals. Good place to pick up lunch to go. I tend to stick with the simple baked items like the conchas, pan de bono and the croissants. They make outstanding empanadas. I’m a huge fan of the both the shreeded beef empanadas in the yuca crust and the chicken empanadas in the puff pastry crust. Don’t forget to ask for the hot sauce that goes with them. The strangest thing is that the most famous Colombian dish the Arepa de Choclo is only so-so.
