Had a lovely experience at this coffee shop! Staff was friendly and knowledgable. We wanted to try a coffee before purchasing the beans and the customer service was superb! Loving very dark roast coffee, we bought a cup of the Kenya coffee to sample. There is a parking lot, which was great! There’s also a little sitting area inside to enjoy your coffee/treats and look at the products they sell. Excited to back and try their many coffees and teas!

If you want a great tasting cup of coffee I suggest Greene’s beans café. There awesome. The gentlemen that works there really knows how to brew a pot of coffee the right way. The staff is at most pleasant, Nd the atmosphere is very laid back. I visit just about every morning. There coffee is full bodied tasting and smooth. Not burnt tasting like Starbucks or average like dunkin donuts. They have a great variety of coffee and teas. They parking lot always seems full but know that the store isn’t usually as busy as the parking lot seems to make it. They share a parking lot with another Business so it seems like it’s super busy but it’s usually fine inside. Will always recommend this shop to new people in town.

This pleasant enough spot offers a huge variety of roasts, flavored java and some specialty teas, along with tons of bric-à-brac that other reviewers have been thoughtful enough to share. While others have complained about the knowledge of the staff, my experience suggested otherwise – she seemed pretty capable of answering all sorts of coffee-related questions. Coffee at Greene Brothers may not be absolute top of the line, but it’s very respectable. And with these options, you’re going to find something up your alley, and it does have the capacity to deliver a pour-over on the spot, along with some seating. But that’s where there’s room for improvement. It only half-heartedly gets the coffee shop vibe right, and by positioning itself almost exclusively as retail rather than a sit-down environment, it feels a bit unwelcoming. No one was seated while I was there, and I can’t imagine cracking open my laptop with some java when Starbucks(and even Dunkin Donuts) would feel more suitable. And while I hate to cavil about something an establishment isn’t doing – that it has no obligation whatsoever to do – I feel like Greene Brothers is missing out on a coffee shop market that a town with the size and personality of Hackettstown ought to have. Heck, it could team up with Mars down the street and make itself into one heck of a chocolate bar on top of it all! But there I go again, being unfair that the proprietor here doesn’t have my goofy imagination. Well, hope springs eternal.

I am not a coffee snob so I will get a cup anywhere. However I can tell when I have a good cup of coffee and this is decent coffee. Shop is very cute(not that I care since I’m here for just coffee) and help is pleasant .Kind of a weird location but that’s because I rarely come down High St so I have to remember that they are here. Been a few times and probably will be back.

Went for the first time with my partner yesterday afternoon. While I will admit that the coffee is average, where else can you get any size coffee for the month of August for only one dollar? They have many coffees, teas, accessories and fresh baked goods. We sat at their tables outside the shop and watched the lovely day slip by while sipping our drinks. At the end of the day I’m more inclined to support the local business in place of the big chains. Sure you can be sure that when you go to Starbucks, Panera, Dukin’, and the rest that you’ll get the same«cup o’ joe» here in Hackettstown and in Chicago or LA. But meeting the local business man and supporting them is where its at. We’ll be back again, and again!

Wi-Fi in this place doesn’t work. The owners still have not fixed it… And in this day and age it’s totally unacceptable. Good coffee, not good for students doing work

Great coffees, teas and assortment of other things. I wish I lived closer. This would be my morning stop. Fresh ground coffee and an apple cider donut. Not sure how to start my day any better.

Great whole bean coffee. I make my own coffee drinks so I can’t attest to their takeout but the beans are very good quality. And they have nice accessories for people that brew their own coffee.

I’ve been going to Greene’s Beans way before I moved to the H-town area. Love their blended vanilla chai! They are never busy and I love the chill atmosphere.

Ok, so to start off, im a bit of a coffee snob and also im not from the area, so maybe this is what NJ thinks coffee is but I knew I was in trouble when the guy pronounced it «expresso». I walked in and was a little confused, the layout was that of a convenience store with those self serve push button cappuccino machines, as well as the self server coffee cylinders(not good for fresh coffee). I asked for a decaf americano and what I got was a bubbling hot espresso nightmare that i got 1st degree burns from(no joke). After quite sometime, I was able to sip some of the coffee and it just wasnt that great. I figure, a roaster should have good coffee period since they roast it onsite though maybe they don’t roast their own espresso. I would skip this place and hit up a mcdonalds to get some Newmans own, which is much better unfortunately.

Cool place to just chill. The smell of coffee is so inviting to just stay longer and try more of their special blends and flavors. The inside décor is cool with enough items around to just look at while sipping coffee. All coffee related of course in which they can be purchased too. Prices were moderate for coffee whether per cup or per pound. I purchased a few whole bean flavors to take home. The chocolate kisses and snicker doodle are fantastic. For those visiting the area or just looking for a place different from a dunkin donuts, I recommend to give this place a whirl.

Quaint little laid back café where they ROASTTHEIROWNCOFFEE! If you’re a fanatic for freshness like I am, Greene’s Beans is your place to buy coffee. I’ve only been to one other place where they roast their own(Java House here in DC), and it’s amazing – though not surprising – how the fresh roast contributes to the flavor of the coffee. I discovered a few years back after a trip that my favorite terroire for coffee is Guatemala, and Greene’s Beans has a varietal called Huehuetenango that is the perfect balance of flavor and boldness for my palate. I always leave with a ground pound to savor at home until my next visit home to visit my Mom. Greene’s beans is also a quirky kind of place that is never too crowded and people can engage in quiet conversation. The local high schoolers working there are always competent and friendly and there’s no attitude. They’re happy to help you if you want to stray from your typical latte to explore the rest of their offerings. I’ve seen impromptu guitar playing and like that this is a place enjoyed by both young and old and in between.

Can you say Yummy? If you are a coffee lover, don’t hit those chain stores, come straight to Green Brother’s in Hackettstown! They have a HUGE selection of coffees, teas and treats. Relax in their casual coffee lounge or sip outside.
