My family has a cabin on Ten Mile Lake where we stay during the summer, and we like to bike into Hackensack for breakfast a few times each year. We used to always eat at the Up North Café(which has since turned into Viddles and Joe), but this morning when we arrived in town by bike around 9:00 it was closed. Desperate for food after our short ride, we scoured downtown Hackensack for any place serving breakfast and soon stumbled upon Kristi’s. We had a group of eleven people on a Monday morning, and when we first peeked in and saw just one waitress working, were a little nervous that we might overwhelm the small establishment with our large party. Our waitress could not have been nicer or more attentive, and our breakfasts were hot and savory. Each meal was served with a large homemade biscuit, which Kristy informed us she makes herself. Kristy and our waitress brought our meals out as they were ready, and everyone’s breakfast was on the table within about five minutes of the others. Highly recommend the classic breakfast, breakfast sandwich with ham, and the French Toast. We were served quickly considering the large group we had, and the dining experience was quite pleasant. I look forward to stopping back in for lunch and pie at some point, and am happy to recommend Kristy’s to anyone!
