Lovely owners, personal service and great pizza! My place to go when you want to eat.

I don’t know what it is about House of Pizza but I really like the flavor of their pizza. Everything else about the slice is terrible. It’s limp, lukewarm, and made in one of the dirtiest kitchens I’ve seen in Bergen County. If you don’t believe me about the lack of cleanliness, then ask to use their restroom. I’ve been eating pizza here since I was 12. I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here. There used to be a karate dojo across the street. The other day was the first time I’ve eaten here since I was in middle school. The flavor is still the same but I don’t remember the slice being so limp. Even the crust was limp…

The pizza is mediocre at best. They are constantly delivering it cold and too many times the credit card machine is down. They make no apologies for their shortcomings. Go to Angelo’s pizza or even Angelina’s if you want good service along with tasty, timely food. If you don’t mind going out instead of delivery, I recommend Brooklyn’s pizzeria. Avoid house of pizza, you will be sorely disappointed eventually.

This place was somewhere that we used to frequent until it became a nightmare. One day we ordered everything seemed find until we found a fly in one of the dishes. We ordered here a lot and were completely shocked. I understand accidents can happen in the kitchen but they treated us horrible after we called to tell them! AREYOUKIDDING!!! horrible service.

Couldn’t agree more with the review below. Mom & Pop NJ pizza places that I knew when I was growing up in the area are becoming an endangered species. Domino’s, Papa Johns, Subway, etc. are taking over. Don’t know why cause they’re awful on so many levels, especially the taste of the food. I passed House of Pizza today while doing errands. Hadn’t been in there in decades. But I was hungry for a slice and decided to stop in. Lo and behold — it was perfect. Not the décor(though I do like the Yankees, lol), not the display of pizza on the shelf — it was the people and the slice that rocked it for me. Howie and his wife and their #1 guy are true Jersey-ites — even if he’s from the Bronx -:)) They run the place for the original owner from way back when who bought it back a while ago. Friendly folks(accents and all) who know how to make REALNJ/NYC pizza. Fresh mushrooms to boot when I asked for a slice with mushrooms. Thin(but not Lido too thin) crust, perfect sauce, melt-in-your mouth cheesy goodness. There’s lots of stuff on the menu that looks good, but it’s the pizza that will bring me back for sure. Glad to support a real, local business!

I’ve been here a few years ago so I decided to stop by because I remember it was an OK pizza. Just like before, I was greeted at the door by the pizza master with that heavy East Coast accent. The difference was in the slice. Pizza on display isn’t exactly the best representation of what you will be having, so judging this book by the cover won’t do justice to what happens after he throws that slice in the oven. Once reheated, you get this awesome thin slice that you probably thought was made in Brooklyn. You’ll probably asked yourself, is this pizza guy from Hackensack? No friggin way! Well, you’d be right. He’s from the Bronx and he makes an awesome slice. This is your quintessential hole-in-the-wall treasure of a pizzeria. I’ll be here more often.
