We discovered the Victorian Tea Room when they were at their old location next to the yarn shop«Sealed With a Kiss». We’ve not been to their new location, yet we will next time we visit Guthrie. The handful of times we darkened their door it was for cupcakes and a warm tea in the winter or soda when it was hot. Words fail me when I try to describe how wonderful the cupcakes are! Unlike what you would commonly think of when pondering cupcakes, these are not your cake muffins with gobs of frosting on top. There are two sizes and both are smaller then a «normal» cupcake. More of dense texture much like a good cheesecake with just the right amount of frosting to complement it. Flavors, almost any flavor you can think of they have had them at one time or another. Granted there are four or five flavors on the menu at a time, each is uniquely done. We travel as a hobby and these cupcakes are on par with what you would find on the dessert menu in a five star restaurant. Sadly I can’t address how the sandwiches or salads taste, as we are so enamored with the cupcakes. If you’re looking for a treat and would like something satisfy a sweet craving, you cannot reward yourself any better than to stop in and indulge in a cupcake. Try it, you’ll wish you had sooner!

The location is not where it says here. It moved to 1st St and Cleveland. I was expecting better to be honest. I was so excited to try this place, but the food really let me down. My friend had a ham and cheese sandwich which is literally what it is. No lettuce, cheese, tomato, mayo, etc. Very bland. I had the sampler, and the ham and cheese salad was decent, but the tuna salad and chicken salad were average. I think they just need to work on the food some more. I do wish I tried the cupcakes because those looked good! I think they might be known for them too. I like the tea choices(hot or iced). I love the various tea cups and pots(very pretty!). I love the idea of this cute place, so I hope they just make some improvements!
