Taqueria Dona Ana

This places is mediocre, good enough to satisfy a craving nothing more. If you give it 4 or 5 stars you’ve never had real mexican food in your life. Way over priced. I understand rent is high at that dump of a mall but dam, 8 bucks for three tacos with out a drink! Tacos have way to much corn oil, and rice has way to much garlic, but it’s just my preference I guess

This place is awesome! It’s the only Mexican restaurant I’ve been to in Gurnee – and it’s in a food court in a mall, no less – but I can’t imagine there being another place within 20 miles that is as good. I went the first time and was so impressed that I saved my stomach so I could go again the next day. The food is delicious, hot, and fresh. It’s real deal Mexican. I had the steak tacos and my wife had chicken flautas. Every element was so yummy. Each of our meals overflowed the large paper plates they were on and once you add the pickled jalapeños/​carrots/​cauliflower, red or green sauce, and limes you’ll be looking for extra room on your tray. Really, really good Mexican food that I don’t think it getting the recognition it deserves (being that I am only the 2^nd person to review this place). If you’re in or around Gurnee, IL and you’re looking for Mexican food this place is worth parking and walking through the mall.

We’ve been coming here for years. This is the best authentic Mexican food that you’ll experience at a fast food court here in Illinois. The giant steak quesadilla meal and steak burrito are our favorites. They also provide hot Jalapenos/​carrots/​cauliflower, slices of lime and red and green hot sauce for free. The portions are huge and unmeasured. Great service and with all of the Mexican people around you ordering Mexican soft drinks, you feel like you are south of the border for a brief moment right before you go to the Nike and Nautica outlet stores. Christmas shopping and a meal at Taqueria Dona Ana, it does not get any better on a Sunday afternoon. Me llamo Gerardo and your food is muy bueno!
