I should have known based on the return phone call. I received a call and tried to give the office manager the square footage/​details of my house. He said that he didn’t need it and could find it online, clue #1 to cancel. I advised that I needed the cleaning to occur right at 8. He said he could have someone come between 8 and 9. I advised that the time slot was not really negotiable as I had to pick someone up from the airport. In the next few days, I received quite a few confirmation voicemails saying that someone would be there between 9 and 11. When I called the office manager he said to ignore the voicemails, clue #2 that i should have cancelled as he was the one leaving the messages. The day of the cleaning, 9 o’clock comes and goes, I get a phone call at 9:30 saying the girls were lost and should be there in 10 minutes. They show up at 10. Upon entering, they ask how many bedrooms and bathrooms. I told them. They advised that per their office manager i had one less bathroom and they didn’t know my house was so big. I advised that i wanted the focus to be downstairs as I was having a party. They advised that they start upstairs and asked if I needed all of the bathrooms cleaned. Umm… yeah? So, I paid for 1.5 hours. At about an hour and 15 minutes, I received a call that they were just finishing upstairs and would only be able to vacuum downstairs. Keeping my cool, I advised that the kitchen MUST be cleaned and only to skip the dishes in the sink. They asked for an additional 30 minutes to clean downstairs. I said OK. Now I arrive to my house in the next 20 minutes and NO MAID PROs in site. My front door was left unlocked and my house was not clean. They claim to have a 49-​point check list but these girls skimmed over my house. In the master bedroom, the carpet next to the bed was not vacuumed. On the stairwell, there was visible dirt on the hand rails, a simple wipe with a wet rag would have cleaned. Only the visible parts of the toilet bowl downstairs were cleaned. I have a toddler and was sitting on the floor of the bathroom only to be disgusted by what i could see from down there. under the rim of the toilet is brown. the window sills in the foyer were not dusted. the switch plates in the living room and kitchen were not wiped down. There was food on the floor when i moved the garbage can. I also wanted to mention several cobwebs in the living room, kitchen, and foyer were removed by me. Needless to say, i emailed the office manager to advise him of my dissatisfaction and have not heard back from him. I will NOT be using them EVER again. SAVE YOUR MONEY!

After two years of excellent service someone new was sent and it was clear the service was below par. The second time this person came it was clear she was at my house less than 2 hours when I paid for 4.5 and she didn’t clean the downstairs leaving a note she was too afraid of my crated dogs (same ones that have been in our home for the past 2 years). Additionally, what she did do was well below par. Victoria was sent to re-​clean the next day and was AMAZING. I was so happy they made it right until we received our credit card bill — charged for two consecutive days. When I called I was told it would be corrected but it wasn’t their fault it was billed twice… how was this not foreseeable? So disappointed.

Sue, the owner of Maid Pro Gurnee has been incredibly prompt and responsive to our changing requests. Kelly comes to our house twice a month and does a phenomenal job! We have lived in cities throughout the US and this has by far been our best experience. I would recommend Maid Pro Gurnee to anyone!

My experience with Maid Pro was terrible. After the several phone calls and the wait to have them finally schedule a date, THEY NEVER SHOWED. Then, they never responded to any of my follow up phone messages. Do not use them. PK
