I had my oil changed here the other day. I was a drop in and they took my car right away. The staff were nice and explained everything, they also made recommendations. It only took about 15 minutes for my car to be finished. The only negative was the waiting room reeked of smoke and made it difficult to sit in there.

No appointment needed. You get just what you expect for the price you pay. Super friendly service, professional service and very clean waiting area. Staff doesn’t try to up sell you on things that you don’t need. I have received recommendations that were due and never felt lied to just for the sell.

I went in today and got my oil changed. The guys that work there were super polite and they weren’t super pushy about the up sells. They tried, but weren’t overbearing about it, and I appreciate that. The gentleman that checked me out was very knowledgable and was very honest with me about my air filter. The service was very quick, and they cleaned the windows of my car which is super nice. They did a great job and got me out of there and on my way very quickly. Thanks guys!

Service is hit and miss and they try so hard to upsell. They sometimes don’t change the filter and once they forgot to put oil in the engine of our Ford Econoline. We returned very furious because that would’ve been a very serious problem on their hands. If you need an oil change watch yourself and be weary of any Jiffy Lube or quick lube joint.

I initially was surprised to note that, after all the years Jiffy Lube(«JL») has been in Gurnee, no one had written a review of its service. Go figure! Then again, it probably is the case because people in the community probably consider JL an ever-present fixture, a reliable lubestitution … or prospective reviewers decided to avoid the hazards associated with joking about lube and fluids.(There is no glamor in it.) After considering that I have depended on this JL for oil changes, etc. for as long as I can remember, I cannot recall a single occasion when I had cause for complaint. Not one! Considering that we humans can cause some pretty spectacular screw ups, JL has one hell of a track record.(Hm. Next time I go, maybe I should hug my JL Tech … or better yet, tell him that I planned to hug him, but will not hug him, so he will be grateful for my not hugging him… Wait…) Whenever I note that the mileage figure on my JL window decal is close to matching the mileage on my odometer, I just roll whatever I may be driving up to JL’s doors, tell my grinning JL Tech what type of service I seek with what type of oil I want(Synthetic for my faithful four wheeled lady, thanks!), hand over her keys, retire to JL’s waiting room, help myself to a hot cuppa, and park my tuchus to browse a mag until I am called upon to pay my bill and am directed to my waiting car; in and out in 25 minutes maximum, and I am good to go until the next time when our numbers nearly match. During these particularly trying and uncertain times, it is nice to know that a business of the caliber of JL will be there, waiting to provide service, swiftly, neatly, usually with a smile and almost always with a «thank you».
