This place needs some new reviews… I don’t know about the special rooms but we stayed on the second floor and it was lit with normal lights… I actually walked the halls around midnight(I couldn’t sleep and didn’t want to wake my family) and didn’t see anything out of the ordinary. The pool is perfect for families with small kids. It has easy steps getting in and out of the pool and the water is only 3 – 4 feet deep. The water wasnt over chlorinated like some places where your nose burns from just breathing. Breakfast can use a few more items… It has the normal toast, english muffins, bagels, sweet rolls… oj, apple juice, coffee and teas… Wish it had some oatmeal or milk. The staff was friendly and polite. When they saw me or my family they asked to make sure everything was okay and if we needed anything. The bed are firm with the memory foam. My kids decided to join me in my bed so that was 3 of us in one. I only woke up because i was in the middle of two kids and I was hot… So I got out and tuned the air on and fell back to sleep. The room is clean with ceiling fans… Small fridge for only beverages and a microwave. Its a fairly large room and didn’t have a funky smell like most hotels do. The tv is nice you can tell they just updated them and theres real tv channels on it!!! Not the basic 12 they have direct tv. Overall… If I need to stay out in Gurnee this would be the place I would stay at.

Yes, it’s tacky. Yes, that’s why my friends and I booked it. Who doesn’t want blacklights in their hallways and in their rooms, illuminating the neon paintings on the walls? We booked the Disney suite because we love Ariel and Aladdin. The rooms were very clean, and there was even a small air hockey table in the room. You have to get the pieces to play it from the front desk, though. Both staff members I worked with were very quick and friendly. I loved the mattress and got a good night’s sleep. The reservation process is weird, though, because you can’t book/pay through their website. You have to give your credit card number over the phone. Also…when we came home from the bar late on a Friday night, there was a transient-looking woman hanging around in the lobby. The next morning when we checked out, she was still there. We saw her leave and walk to the highway with a drawstring bag and a plastic sack. I don’t want to think there’s a resident prostitute, but who knows??? It was a little shady. I don’t think I’d stay there again, but it was fun to stay once as a joke.

Great place to stay!!! It’s fun, clean and very affordable! It’s at a great location right across the street from great america. It has great restaurants nearby! My daughters love the rooms. The bottom floor has their awesome rooms, some even have a kids air hockey table in it. The workers there are friendly and accomadating. My mother stays there every time she comes to visit out here. They have an indoor pool, it can be cool at times. They have an outside small patio area that is connected to the indoor pool. They also have an underground parking garage if you want to pay for your car to be parked there, if not they have a small parking lot by their side entrance which is secure with a key swipe entry. I would defintely recommend to stay here, with kids or even for a small romantic getaway.

me and my fiancée went here for a tacky holiday. best idea ever. Rooms are decently clean and BLACKLIGHTS. sure, some people use this as a legit hotel and expect it to be as nice as a chain but I mean, anywhere with a Carousel room is SUPPOSED to be tacky.

Good proximity to Great America, clean rooms, and good size for two double beds. Very comfortable memory foam beds, but the walls are a little thin, there are few on site amenities, and the bathrooms are lightly equipped, but overall, a very reasonable limited service hotel.
