This Fairfield Inn is a pretty nice hotel for a 2.5 star. I usually hate to stay at any hotel that isn’t a 3 star, but I was pleasantly surprised to have a comfortable bed, linens, and a decent sized bathroom.

The hotel isn’t all that nice. In fact it’s the shittiest«Marriot» I’ve ever been to. The rooms are exactly motel 6 quality, the sheets don’t fit and fall off the bed. The tv is the size of a computer monitor and has to be unplugged from time to time to «reset.» Seriously motel 6 quality, at Marriot pricing. I would not stay here again nor would I recommend anyone else to stay here. There are tons of other hotels in the area and I’m sure there are better values. Why 4 stars? The staff. Absolutely superb, from the lady that checked us in to the man that handles breakfast. Everyone was so genuinely nice and helpful. Whoever put this team together deserves to be commended; and all the individual team members as well.

Great customer service. The hotel is great maybe the lobby a little small but it’s service it’s purpose pretty good. The only bad thing was the humidity control in the rooms. But we would still stay there again. Thank you for your hospitality.

This hotel can use some loving care. Our room, 121, smelled like mildew every time we opened the door, the toilet bowl failed to fill 3 times in 3 days and the water is either cold or scalding hot. Also the side door entry failed to open with our key cards. In addition they serve the same old tired breakfast food common to so many budget hotels. It’s a roof over your head but don’t expect much more.

We spend New Year’s Eve in a local hotel. This one exceeded our expectations. The rooms were large and very clean. The beds were comfortable. The swimming pool was warm. The halls were quiet. The staff was helpful and courteous. And best of all, the price was half of what we spent last year!

This hotel turned out to be quite a bit nicer than I was led to believe by Orbitz. I also think the review here from Steve A. is a bit of an unfair ding — so they wouldn’t haggle beyond the posted prices with you. You didn’t actually stay here, and that’s all you had to say? Anyway — stayed here because I had to attend a 1 day seminar on a Sunday morning and there’s now way I was getting up early to drive straight in from Minneapolis. So I drove down a day early to stay here. First — I had gotten the impression that Gurnee IL was some backwoods area, but in fact it’s a pretty prosperous suburb. The hotel is right on the inner skirt of the shopping mall on it’s frontage road, with some restaurants nearby. This was nice to have some variety nearby. The room was neat and tidy. A fridge and microwave were provided in room. Free Wi-Fi that worked very well. The breakfast bar was awesome. Pancakes, waffles, fresh fruit, bacon, sausage, cold cereal, milk, juice, bagels, toast, scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs. As much as you could eat and all free. It was a fantastic spread and very fresh. I was surprised how nice it was for such an inexpensive hotel. Anyway, I enjoyed my stay and the facility was much nicer than they advertise. Perhaps they advertise low and deliver high to ‘wow’ you? Highly recommended.

What it lacks in the fanciness of it’s sister hotels, this Fairfield Inn makes up for with a charming and helpful staff. Incredibly accommodating, kind, and attentive. Maybe I just lucked out but everyone I met was cheerful. Though I was just in town for a horse show weekend, they made me feel as though I was their most prized regular guest.

Arrived early and they had a room ready! It’s right across the way from the Gurnee Mills Mall and a short drive from Six Flags Great America. The AC was ice cold and was silent. There was an indoor pool, a community computer and free breakfast. No fee for the wi-fi internet use, which was a bonus. If ever in the area again, I would stay. Great deal for the price we paid.

Stopped to inquire about pricing and instead of helping use or matching their competition which literally shares the same parking area. Instead the rep told of the comfort inns deal and sent use over their. Way to be aggressive in earning the customer business. No ales pitch about a better product and no working on the rate. I gave a two because they might have a great product but we would not know.
