I have to admit that the first time I walked into Cake Crumbs, I did not get a good vibe at all. The owner/baker was very terse and didn’t crack a smile the entire time we spoke about her making our wedding cake. And, we didn’t have a cake tasting. But, being one of the few bakeries in town, I really felt that I had no choice but to use Cake Crumbs for our wedding cake. We settled upon a design, colors, and price. A few months later I called to check in with the baker. After telling her my name, she immediately remembered my cake/event and even said they had been experimenting with the odd decorations I had asked for! I was so impressed that she was already working on the cake months in advance of the wedding. She was also great with a few minor adjustments we made to rental agreements and the such. Then came our wedding. Besides the cake cutting, we didn’t get a bite of cake until the very end of the night after all the guests had left. So I sat down with a mojito and finally dug into a big slice of cake. And boy, was it good. I had a vanilla slice(all the chocolate was gone) and it was so light and fluffy and moist. The cake itself was not too sweet so that the icing was allowed to shine as well. My husband and I both still wish we had kept more of the cake(there was a ton leftover, we got a big cake) to eat to this day. And beyond, I’m sure. Cake Crumbs did a stand-up job by providing us a great tasting cake with great service. The next time we’re back in Guntersville, we’re heading straight for Cake Crumbs for another slice.
