Monster Sub & Sandwich

Love this little mom and pop sandwich shop. When they say monster subs, they mean it. We split one and still couldn’t finish it. The quality of the meat, veggies and bread are truly fresh and amazing. Even thru their busy rush hour, the owner that prepared our food took the time to check on every customer to make sure they were having the best experience possible. It’s nice to see someone take pride in their business. Everyone should take the time to check this place out. They have a large open seating area with the casual dinning experience. They have a very clean place and really take pride in their business. This is a must stop lunch spot if you are in the area.

I had a simple turkey, roast beef, Swiss cheese sandwhich on a croissant and it was delicious! The croissant was buttery and they gave you a good amount of meat. Quick service !

Came here for lunch and I must say, it was just ok. The size of the turkey rachel was good, but the taste was average. For a $ 10, I expected more. I must say the staff was friendly, and the establishment well kept. I shall return for another go at it soon.

A Monster Sub is definitely monster size. A Monster sub, if you’re conservative, is enough to feed two people. The Italian sub was fresh, delicious and reasonably priced for the amount of food that you get. The owner and his son make you feel welcomed and we enjoyed a nice dining experience. We felt right a home from the minute we walked in. We will definitely go back if we are in the area again.

I love this place. Went here with hubby for lunch on a weekday around noon. We had never been here before but he had heard great things from coworkers.
The building looks brand new but parking spaces seemed a little sparse. I was a little disappointed with the seating. There are a few tables with 2 chairs scattered around and the rest of the seating is at picnic tables.
Anyhow, the food and staff make up for any shortcomings. The girl that greeted us was super friendly, explaining the menu and helping us make our decisions. She was not anything like other places I’ve been where the person is obviously not interested in their job at all.
My husband and I both ordered turkey Monster subs. They are huge! The sandwich had tons of turkey on it and I got to pick which toppings, cheese, and sauce I wanted. Think subway but on steroids with a million times more meat.
I could not finish and took half of mine home for later.
The food was great. Every employee I encountered was super friendly and made the place feel very inviting despite my original recoil at the seating.
I do wish they had fountain drinks (only bottled) but I will definitely be back!

I got the Rachel and it was amazing! The amount of meat on this sandwich is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. AND it was delicious! I got it how it comes and it was a great choice. The staff were all kind and helpful. Definitely worth the stop and I plan on going back to try all the other sandwiches!

Very friendly family! Upon walk in I was greeted with warmness. I knew I’d be taken care of with my order. I ordered the Rachel and was satisfied! Wholesome goodness! They definitely don’t skimp on the meats! I will definitely keep going to try other sandwiches!

I really wanted to love this place… the owner and employees were friendly and courteous, and the sandwiches were loaded with meats and toppings… but the tastes of everything together was just meh. Not sure if it was the mayo, or the meats or the breads… but they didn’t come together for me. They are popular with the military in the area and had a good crowd for lunch… and still beat subway types… but was hoping for more.

My wife and I went here today, I got the Reuben it was okay bread should have been pressed
and the meat was heated up by a microwave, my wife got the chicken salad in which all you can taste is Italian seasoning was not good, not worth the 20 bucks we put out.

I really love the chicken salad with gouda on multi grain add 2 strips of bacon the best ever

I hardly ever have a chance to get a good Pastrami sandwich but I can find one here, don’t normally do deli’s but had a random urge and looked them up, very fast and decently priced and incredibly clean.
I ordered a pastrami sandwich with a kaiser bun, Swiss, cole slaw and Dijon mustard, all fell together greatly and everything had a fantastic flavor.

I travel A LOT for work and get to eat a all kinds of places. I purposely look for the whole in the walls, family owned restaurants. After reading the comments I felt I needed to respond. Although all the comments say they will come back, I feel you need to know up front, this IS NOT a poboy shop. They make Subs/​Hoagies. There is a difference. This shop intends not to sell «local poboys». You will not find shrimp, oysters or other common poboy fixins. Poboy shops are a dime-​a-​dozen around here. I am so excited for this shop. It reminds me of my favorite shop in South Florida; but better.
If what you are wanting is a GREAT hoagie, this is your place. This is a no frills, high quality restaurant. Drinks and chips should be an after thought. The sandwiches are HUGE. FULL OF MEAT. The peppers put it even further over the top. I recommend the Italian Small Monster.

Okay I have wanted to try this place forever but there are limited hours so pay attention before you come here too late and they are closed.
I love the muffuletta from New Orleans. It’s all I know but it is to die for. So naturally I had to try their version of it. I ordered the large and the guy talked me out of it saying it was too big but I told him I could take half home– he still looked at me crazy so fine– gimme a small. The small is $ 7.95 I believe and the large is three bucks more. I like value and always order the large for leftovers. Whatever. So the sandwich is made to order, very fresh, and the olive dressing was good. The bread is too much and all I added was lettuce and tomato but had it the way they make it and it was just to dry. Nothing on bread that big is not great. Here’s where they lost me. The sandwich needs to be hot or at least have the option like the one in New Orleans. The owner did say he could microwave it but I was already eating it. The owner was stopping by the tables and checking on everyone and that’s frickin awesome. We did give him some feedback (he asked) and my friend got the Reuben and told him she would liked it more of it were pressed (not really sure what that means not being from around here)
The restaurant is very clean and nice inside– wanted Doritos and they didn’t have those but they had Boulder chips and Sun Chips which is cool but Doritos are always a favorite. Lastly they do not have fountain drinks and I am a huge fan so anytime there is only canned/​bottled drinks I am disappointed. I think it’s a great family owned place and if you are in the mood for a sandwich then hell ya it beats the chains by far.
(I warmed up my other half when I got home and I loved it!!! Much better heated)

Sooooo good. Highly recommend! Husband and I were starving and thought we could split a monster sub. We both couldn’t finish our halves! Next time split lil monster sub. Great food!

I love a good sandwich. Best I’ve had were Firehouse, Dales Deli, and now «Monster Sub». Fresh quality sandwich and they don’t short you on meat. It’s a real «monster» sub.

Basic menu but very good! I had the Reuben it was excellent. They have many different toppings to choose from to spice up your sandwich. I’m glad I found this place and definitely recommend to others.

Since we lost Lenny’s in Gulfport, Monster has stepped up as the perfect replacement. Their operation is basically the same. You get tons of meat and other toppings, so much that the sandwich barely closes which is great. My only complaint is the place is always a bit disorganized behind the counter. They got too many people stumbling over each other and customers end up swapping place in line all the time. They need to streamline their work process because the line always backs up at lunchtime.

Got excited when I opened the sandwich so no pics. But boy was it good. Ordered the Monster Italian. Only place I know that cuts meats to order and includes cappicola. You pick your toppings so you basically are getting the freshest sandwich out there. Fantastic. Reasonably priced and loaded with meat. Definitely a monster of a sandwich. Will return.

This place has the best subs I’ve ever eaten they are huge and all the ingredients are fresh the meat is so fresh they slice it for each sandwich as its being made. I promise you won’t find a better sandwich any where if you order the monster be prepared to leave with a half a sandwich cause you can’t eat the whole thing. This is one of the places you eat at and in five years your back in the area and go HEY we got to eat at monsters and it’s not just the food the place is family owned and operated and they try to make every one that walks thru their door feel like family or at least a neighborhood friend lol
