Gatlin’s

I am a bridesmaid in a best friend’s wedding. We came here to look at and try on dresses. When we first walked in, the first thing I noticed about this place was the smell. It smells a bit too musky in there, like moldy. The second think I noticed was the carpet. It is light carpet with dark very disturbing stains ALL OVER! All I could think of is if you can’t keep the carpet clean how can you keep the dresses clean? We went over to the area where you try on dresses and there is two dressing rooms (same nasty carpet) and there is a tiny area where you can stand, and discuss dresses that others try on. There is no seating, so we were sitting on the floor and setting our purses on the floor. The ladies working showed little interest in our group of 5 women. The set up for the shop was uncomfortable for our group in the changing area. I had excused myself to use the restroom at one point. The restroom was filled to the ceiling with products. It was sloppy in there. They had these stuffed animals and dolls that were all dusty and filthy. One of the girls with is couldn’t stop sneezing because of the dust. The younger blonde lady asked us what style and brand dresses we were looking at, the bride told her that the brand did not matter as long as the fabric and color scheme went together. The lady then was extremely snooty toward us about not using the same brand. It was odd to me that she cared about anything at all considering she doesn’t care she works in a shop that looks and smells sloppier than a good will after a new shipment. We quickly left and went to another shop after the experience. I don’t recommend any ladies having a «classy» wedding come here. I believe I can speak for everyone in my group when I say the experience was less than enjoyable.

I LOVE Gatlin’s!
I was in a MAJOR crisis with my wedding gown. Gatlin’s provided me an answer to my prayers with a dress that fit off the rack one week before our big day! The owner is wonderful and her daughter is incredibly sweet and helpful too. The pooch that frequents the store is also adorable =) I will definitely be back to Gatlin’s for any formal wear needs I have in my future. This place is better than most boutiques I found in San Francisco!!!
