The saddest thing about my rating is that I never got the opportunity to actually see the doctor and thus really experience his service. The big barrier to getting an appointment with him was his nightmarish answering service and tactless clerk. Back in early November 2011, I decided to call and try to schedule an appointment as a new patient at about 1PM. I got the answering service and I was told that the doctor was out for lunch. I was told to call back in an hour. I had stuff to do, so I ended up calling closer to 3PM. Surprisingly, I was told he was still at lunch. I didn’t think that a two hour lunch was THAT big of a deal until I called again the next day around 4 and was STILL told that he was away«at lunch». I gave up for a bit and tried calling back on a Friday, at which point the same answering service told me the doctor is not even in on Friday. I decided to persist since the guy was so close. I waited for a bit and called back one more time late November. I finally got through, and asked what time the doc was available. I was asked for my name, birthday and street address. After I shared the info, I was told to wait for them to call me back so that they could confirm that I can be accepted as a new patient. Weird. Ok. They call me back and told me that I was accepted, and that I needed to call back again with my SSN. I ran into that dang answering service a couple of more times before I ended up getting through to the office on 12÷5÷11. I ask for an appointment, and they ask me for my birthday again. I tell them I should be in the system, only to be greeting with the same request with a needlessly harsh tone. I submitted the info again, then was told I needed to be accepted as a new patient… again! After telling them I was already accepted, I learned that the very person demanding information was the same person who called me a few days back to tell me I was indeed accepted. I was getting irritated at this point, but it looks like we were finally about to discuss appointment times! YES! She tells me the doctor only sees new patients during designated time periods, none of which fell before the seventeenth. Although the doctor DID have time to see patients, he only reserves a more flexible schedule for people that he has seen more than once. I had no freedom to choose something that fit both my schedule and his. Long story short: The staff is unprofessional because they treat you like someone to be «dealt with». Getting an appointment was like pulling teeth, and I would recommend choosing another doctor in the area.
