The place is a dive. There is a difference between no frills/authentic/come as you are place, and«we just don’t care what the place looks like.» Pink Pony Pub is the latter. I felt dirty sitting there. Boxes stored in the corner, everything is old and dirty. It is not the atmosphere that makes you want to come back. For somewhere that charges what they do for food and drinks, they owe it to their customers to at least try to spruce the place up. Being right on the beach, there is so much potential for an amazing experience. But it was not even close to that. We had the Nachos and they were good, no complaints on that. Our server was nice too. Very disappointing. I do not recommend it. Go elsewhere.

I really like this place. They make mean gumbo/chowder, have plenty of outdoor beachside seating and offer cheap fried pub food. We like coming here later in the evening to avoid the tourist crowds. It’s a nice casual place to unwind with a good beer and great beach views. Only word of caution: it tends to get a little smokey later in the night…

Karaōke was fun, drinks were priced right, atmosphere was fun and casual. I am pretty sure I killed it on stage with my renditions of My Way and Kiss. This may be a 6 star establishment when I am there. Great place to go out on vacation!

Fries are great. I had the shrimp po boy and it was good but shrimp could have been a little bigger. Still tasted good. Drinks are overly priced for size

We went during the day around 3pm. We came off the beach with no shoes and had a couple of drinks. The server was tired and a little grumpy. You might have to give them a break here because this was near the end of Spring Break season and she’s probably had it with spring breakers, but still, it’s a bar. You go there to have fun. The television was playing the Disney channel(I kid you not). Which then I started calling the place the My Little Pony Bar. I felt the place was cold, especially with no shoes. The atmosphere was basically blah. Service was grumpy. Maybe we should’ve sat outside where it was warmer. Would I go again, not during the day. The night time is probably better.

I really enjoyed this place! My whole group loved doing karaōke it was awesome and the whole bar really gets into it! It is on the smaller side so my big group had to stand up but it was still loads of fun! The drinks prices were good and the mixed drinks were on the stronger side. The service wasn’t that great if you ordered so I would suggest going to the bar to get your drink.

I absolutely love this place! This is my first time here and already I can’t wait to go back. Our waitress was a doll, friendly and attentive, helpful, too. My Po’Boy was absolutely amazing, my first time ever having one. If you come around these parts The Pink Pony is a MUSTVISIT!!!

Both the night time bartenders were very sweet, and professional. She waved at us as we walked in, which made us feel very welcomed! She also wrote down two places that served food late night, w/their addresses because we got there after the kitchen had closed. Atmosphere was fun!

Great location. Burgers looked amazing(we got the nachos, which were fairly good). Sadly, our experience was marred by an incompetent server. It took an hour to get the nachos we ordered, our drinks were never tended to(we would’ve ordered more, meaning a bigger bill, and a bigger tip.), and it took forever for him to take our payment so we could leave(the faster people pay, the sooner you can get a new table, meaning more tips). Neighboring tables were perturbed as well–«it isn’t even busy,» the guy next to us mumbled. Waiting tables isn’t for everyone, and he was nice enough(whenever he remembered we were there), but for his sake, I hope J finds a different career path that suits him better and makes him more cash.

Nah! Ordered the all u can eat shrimp on Thursday night… not fresh. Decent shrimp but they couldn’t keep up. Not a ‘family place’ wouldn’t be too bad with your buds, inside was FREEZING! Deck didn’t have any room, just picnic tables.

Fun and neat atmosphere. Karaōke nights are a good time! I highly recommend the peel and eat shrimp and the Bob Marley drink!

The shrimp was great, the gumbo was horrible, the crab cakes were great, the salad was pitiful; though some aspects were good I wouldn’t go back

Great view from the deck — overlooking the public beach. We went on a Thursday night around 7pm. It wasn’t crowded at all when we got there. We ordered gator bites for an appetizer(which we thought were pretty pricey). They were good, but they came out after our food. This was our last stop after a week in Gulf Shores and eating a lot of seafood, so it was time for a burger for me. I had the sourdough burger, which was seasoned well and cooked perfectly. The fries were great, too! My husband had the blackened fish poboy and enjoyed that as well. We both ordered drinks: a margarita and a piña colada — both decent, but not something that left us raving about the drinks. We only had one issue with the service and that was when a large party was seated that demanded our server’s attention. We didn’t see him again for quite a while. Overall, I’d go back for a decent meal and a gorgeous view.

Making some reviews from our vacation. Went to the pink pony while down in Gulf Shores. It was pretty good! Service was a little slow at first and one of the waiters was a little sassy but I don’t think he meant to be rude. I ordered a craft beer and their nachos. Do not order them alone! They are enormous and pretty tasty. Craft beer was also very tasty. The guys ate burger and said they were also good but nothing spectacular.

A little bar right on what they call a boardwalk. It has a deck outside and karaōke inside. It reminded me of a local bar in the country in some small town. I like those kinds of bars and everyone was friendly. The service was quick and the beers were cheap. We will be stopping back.

We went on Sunday May 24 and service was terrible. We sat outside on the deck in a small corner table, just 2 of us. After about 10 minutes of no one whatsoever coming over to say hey or give us menus, we went over to a server and asked for some help. A girl snapped«we’re on rotation.» Okay…well, can you rotate yourself over to at least say hello and that you’ll be right with us? It’s not asking a whole lot to be acknowledged in a reasonable amount of time. Many many many more minutes went by and we had to go flag a bus boy down for some menus. The deck was not full. There were empty tables. There were people who were sat after us receiving drinks and food. So… really not sure what the deal was. Finally our gal came over and took our drink order then rushed off rather strangely. We only ordered a strawberry daiquiri and a water. She was gone again FOREVER. When she returned with my daiquiri and we placed our tiny food order(just the loaded potato skins) she said she’d need a credit card on file to hold order. What? What kind of restaurant is this? We just walked up from the beach in our swimsuits? We have soggy cash. We don’t have a credit card with us right now. I don’t take such things to the beach??? I told her she could happily go ahead and ring up our order and I would pay before the food arrived. I mean, what the heck? Am I going to go run off with a styrofoam daiquiri? She never brought the check though. The daiquiri had NO alcohol in it. Not a drop. I’m no lush but you know when your drink has booze in it. When I questioned her she assured me oh yes, there’s a shot of rum. Nope. Not buying it!!! It was a delicious frozen treat but there was no alcohol in that thing. No smell. No taste of booze. Once our food arrived she finally explained that some hooligans had ran up a $ 200 tab and ran off without paying. Dined and dashed. The police were there and she was dealing with that. Had she been up front in the beginning perhaps our time may have been different. I still don’t understand why none of the other servers bothered to help her out and greet us or bring us menus. That is really lousy team work and crappy service on the restaurant. I don’t think I’d bother going back because clearly they don’t care. The skins were good. The drink was good but there was no alcohol so I felt swindled. Not a good experience! And WAY too time consuming. We went for a quick snack and it turned into this excruciatingly long endeavor.

Location/atmosphere — 5⁄5. Right on the beach in the middle of the spring break action. Karaōke every night. Lots of potential for fun. Service — 2.5÷5. Despite lots of staff in pink shirts, our waitress seemed to be M.I.A most of the time. The bus boy(food runner?) was nice, attentive, and helped pick up the slack. Food — 3⁄5. About what you would expect from a tiny beach bar. Slightly overpriced. Not a whole lot of options. Not terrible, but nothing to write home about.

Well, maybe a 3 for being so user friendly from the beach. The food was mediocre and the piña colada missed the mark on alcohol content! The famous nachos were a huge plate of nachos with beef, cheese and sour cream. Nothing special and way too large and the $ 17.95 price… please nachos… for that price? The pony burger tasted like a frozen burger on a so so bun. Nothing special to this place other than it is on the beach and easy to access to fill the belly.

The initial draw for our dining here was the name — at first glance we thought it was a strip club,(could you imagine a strip club on the beach — yikes!) but alas no it’s a sports bar. It’s probably one of the most closely located restaurants to the beach — it’s right on the boardwalk, and since we were in Gulf Shores for Hangout Fest — the patio gave a great view of the Chevrolet main stage. The restaurant boasted the best nachos on the beach — and after the previous day’s epic fail with Jalapenos, we were in the mood for some Tex-Mex goodness. When we inquired about the size of the nachos, our waitress wholeheartedly replied that the nachos entrée(chicken ot beef; $ 15) was more than enough for two people — and it certainly was. They were huge, there was definetely no way we could’ve ordered anything else and been able to touch it in the same sitting We chose the chicken nachos, which came topped with shredded chicken, melted cheese, jalapenos, onions, with sour cream and salsa on the side. Overall, it was fairly decent — I’ve had better, I’ve had worse. I felt the chicken was a bit on the bland side, and that the nachos would’ve benefited from more toppings. The service was great however, our waitress was very sweet and attentive — and I appreciated her telling us that we probably shouldn’t order any more food with the nachos — others probably wouldn’t have!
