Normally I love this place. They have the best crab rangoon, and their miso is on point. However, today, the pad thai was horrible. The noodles were white, and had basically no sauce, and no flavor. My tofu was in HUGE chunks, like they tried to cut it up but gave up halfway. My pad thai came out 10 minutes before my boyfriend got his sushi. The sushi had hard, stale rice, and the steak in the cowboy roll was burnt to death. The dancing tuna was glimmering with oil, and all of them were falling apart. The rolls themselves had rice on all 4 sides of the individual pieces? It was very strange. And to top it off, the most STALE fortune cookie that exists on this planet.

I really like the sushi. Kids like the Chinese food. We come by here regularly after kids play at Tiger Point.

The waitress was really friendly and the food was good. I got the hot pot curry and my sister had the pad Thai. The pad Thai had a strong fish sauce flavor which I’m not complaining but I’m not sure if others would appreciate the strong taste if they weren’t familiar to it. The curry was also good, it was full of different types of meats and shrimp along with different veggies. It was about a 40 minute drive but I wouldn’t mind driving back to try something else.

Snarky wait staff. Food is not so good. Unimpressed. Place is beautiful though. Such a shame, Gulf Breeze needs a good Asian restaurant.

I would give only one star because restaurant should have good food first. Like if you make sushi chef must prepare fresh fish or plates, I had four time here but never get good sushi but service is good. Try make good and customer will make you good business. Thanks

Never again. I feel like we just got robbed! Even with a Groupon we spent quite a bit more than we anticipated. Mainly because the BBQ ribs my son ordered came out cold as if they were frozen and microwaved and did not taste good so we ordered him some teriyaki chicken. They charged us 12.99 for a chicken breast with a side of teriyaki sauce, no rice, no vegetables. As previous reviewers commented the tables were very sticky and the menus were sticky and had food on them. The sushi was not good either. My husband commented that it tasted canned, I had not told him that another reviewer made the same comment. The waitress was nice although when she noticed we were not eating the ribs and we said we did not like them she did not offer any compensation. We did not tell her they were cold because our other food had not come out yet and we didn’t know if it would be safe to complain. By the time we left we were just over it and done and decided to being them home for the dogs. While we were there only two other families were there eating… one was leaving when we arrived the other came in after we arrived. The couple who came in after us sent most of their food back to the kitchen because it was cold. All around bad experience. Definitely would NOT recommend! The only reason they earned one star is because it will not let you give no stars.

To start off I’m a huge sushi fanatic, so I decided to give a new place a shot. Plus I had a groupon(warning one). The place is nice inside, but when we sat down our menus smelled like dirty rags and the table was sticky. The server was ok, when we asked her what canonize meant she said she had no idea. She made a good recommendation for a sushi roll and it came out looking awesome. The other three rolls we had were pretty on point as well. An hour after leaving however, our insides are not agreeing with the food. It wasn’t anything special and after getting a little sick this place gets a solid two stars.

The staff is friendly, the sushi is delicious and the waitress’s are fun and speedy. We love visiting this restaurant, I think they upgraded to a new chef, the last time the food was really extra good, the sushi was huge!

Excellent food and service. Just moved to the area and have been here twice. The teriyaki Salmon Bento box is my fave. So yummy! The crab rangoon, General Tsao and teriyaki chicken was very good too. Going back today! :)

If I could give this place a negative, I would! Everything we ordered was GROSS! We had an appetizer, sushi, and 2 entrées. It was the worst sushi I’ve had in my entire life! The tuna tasted like canned tuna. It was small and WAY over priced. The shrimp in the pad Thai I ordered was smaller than a quarter. The sauce had no flavor and was a pile a noodles. The general chao tasted like BBQ sauce. Such a waste of money! Do yourself a favor and pass on this one! I’ll update this post if we get sick!

For inexpensive Chinese food on the Gulf Coast, this is one of the more reasonable and tasty locations. True, I’ve had better in major cities of in the countries of origin themselves, but hey, this is NFW, not Tokyo. Anyway, the food is good, cheap and the service is great. I wouldn’t really recommend their sushi(there’s better restaurants in Destin), but this is an awesome place for Chinese. Their take-out can be hit or miss, but it’s tasty and it hasn’t gotten me sick! Overall, try it! Good service and good food!

I got a handful of items to sample, which aren’t even worth eating… Egg Roll: Soggy. Bland. Hot & Sour Soup: Not hot. Not sour. Bland and gelatinous. Seaweed Salad: Tastes like a store bought seaweed salad, but at least it’s edible, which is more than I can say for the rest of this stuff. Chicken & Cashews: Tastes frozen. Chicken is rubbery. Gross. Vegetarian Pad Thai: Plain white rice noodles. No sauce. Some fried egg and a few snow peas. Topped with a lemon wedge. This is just confusing. Definitely not pad thai. Definitely not good. Maybe the sushi is better?

I’m reluctant to give any business only one star, but our meal was so bad that I can’t rate Mandarin Moon any higher. In total we ordered three different dishes, and each was uniquely bad. The mackerel sashimi was cold and watery. The sushi was rather flavorless, except for the salmon which tasted fishy. The third dish, Thai chicken and rice, was mushy and salty. The chicken was rubbery, as if it came from a microwaveable bag. Overall the meal was so bad that we couldn’t even finish it. Our waitress was very nice, and the interior was comfortable. I sincerely wish I had more good things to say about this restaurant, but I simply don’t.

Small, over sauced plates of food. Nice variety to choose from the menu but realistically no big hurry to return.

We liked this place at first. The atmosphere is great, the employees are kind, but the food was not as good as we had hoped. We have lived in some major cities and have had some amazing Thai food, so maybe that is a reason why we were disappointed. Who knows. When we walked in, we had high expectations, too. But, I don’t know how this was rated the best Thai in the area! It really wasn’t. The Pad Thai, the most basic dish and the standard of measurement of a good Thai restaurant, was horrible. It’s like they forgot something… except they didn’t forget the fish sauce! I couldn’t eat it. It was very bland, other than the fish sauce. It was pale. There was no color to it whatsoever. The noodles were overcooked and crammed into a plastic container so then they all stuck together. So disappointed. General Tso’s was not impressive either. Small portion and it was also not as flavorful as expected. Szechuan chicken was bland. Maybe it’s just different from what we’re used to. The spring rolls were okay, but more wrapper than filling. I have to give them credit on their Hot and Sour soup. It’s good. The Szechuan Spicy Wonton was also good. Fried rice was satisfying(just regular ol’ chicken fried rice, nothing fancy). The ginger salad dressing is awesome. I can’t speak of the sushi or anything like that since I don’t like sushi, but it always looks good, if that’s your thing.

Went to the«Mandarin Moo» for an early dinner on a Sat night(the«n» was burned out) to satisfy a taste for all things Asian. And I do mean all things: the menu has sushi, thai, japanese and some chinese. My wife is a regular lunch patron and already has her favorites while I’m still looking for my signature dish. We started the evening with a little friendly chit chat with one of the owner’s relatives who greeted us soon as we walked in. One thing I always appreciated about the Moon is that it was decorated from the beginning to be an Asian restaurant vice so many of the local places that were a steakhouse, mexican, whatever. The Moon has class and style and that extends to the presentation of the food. Our first item was a six piece california roll artfully arranged on a porcelain serving dish. The roll tasted as good as it looked and all for a mere $ 3.50! Our meals came with soups that were promptly delivered after the last piece of sushi was eaten. I had the hot and sour which was thick with egg and some carrot slivers. Flavorful and fresh but I would have preferred some more«hot»(personal preference). My wife had the corn soup which also had a fresh made from scratch taste. For the main course my wife had the thai pineapple chicken in fried rice. Her portion was generous(she took half home) and there was plenty of pineapple and shredded chicken. I had the shrimp scallop vegetables in garlic sauce. The seafood was tender, cooked just right, likewise for the veggies, especially the green beans that still had a little bit of a snap to them. My choice was listed as hot, but like the soup, I would have liked a little more bite. Unlike my wife’s dinner, none of mine got a free ride home. Overall, service was efficient and friendly in a setting that could easily pass for being upscale in NWF. The food was fresh and plentiful and the cost plus tax and a glass of wine:$ 36 and change!

We have eaten at most of the usual spots in Pensacola Beach and Pensacola and were looking for someplace we’ve never patronized. Found this little gem on another foodie website. Warning: it’s located at an end cap in a strip mall. But we all know that looks can be deceiving. The décor is nicely done and we were greeted by a wonderful aroma. I’ve been craving Thai Pineapple Rice and saw it on the menu. Ordered the chicken version and it was chock-full of chicken. Pineapple? Not so much. But it had a nice flavor. Was it just as good as some of my favorite haunts in Thai town LA? No. But thus is Gulf Breeze, folks! BTW that would be Los Angeles. Not Lower Alabama. The Vegetable Udon was also very flavorful. Plenty of vegetables but they were almost minced. Would prefer larger chunks of vegetables but don’t think it would change the flavor much. My husband had the special which was Wahoo atop a black bean sauce. That was wonderful. Great flavor and cooked perfectly. His only comment was that the sauce was pretty intense and a little goes a long way, so less would be better. Drank some nice Pinot Grigio. All in all we really enjoyed it.
