Tried Rocco’s after one month of being open food good not great. Very friendly staff, tried the lasagna it was crêpe style not pasta, was not told by waitress. Chicken cutlet was good, portions are plentiful. Will go back to try the pizza. They are offering a Valentine day special might want to go a little more upscale.

Have been meaning to give it a try but every time I try they are closed. Closed Sunday??? Seriously? Just for that you get a one star!

The food is great but BECAREFUL if you are getting your order to go. Check it before you leave. I’ve had a problem twice and both times I did not get what I paid for. No shrimp on my salad on the first occasion. Second trip I got a side salad instead of the downtown salad I ordered(and paid for) and a small soup instead of the quart I paid for. I contacted them 1st time but no response. I think I’m done with Rocco’s of Guilford… I cannot afford to continue paying for things I do not receive.

Pizza is great and on par with the rest in the area. Sandwiches were great too. Awesome that they deliver to North Branford.

Best Sicilian Pizza this side of NYC! Fresh, flavorful and crispy! Stopped in Saturday night around 5:00 as we were passing by. The place is nicely decorated, cozy and warm, and clean. We saw Sicilian pizza on the menu, which you can’t even get most places, and we immediately ordered it to go, with everything — mushrooms, onions, pepperoni, meatballs, sausage, etc. The menu is extensive, much more than a «pizza joint» — they have many more entrees than the usual lasagna and spaghetti, and many really unique pizzas. Our pizza was absolutely AMAZING! When we got it home, it was still crispy on the outside and bottom, soft and doughy on the inside — a PERFECT Sicilian pizza! Sometimes when there are so many toppings, the bottom can get soggy — NOT at Rocco’s! It was flavorful and fresh — they do not skimp on anything! The meatballs tasted homemade and the whole pizza tasted like it was made with real quality ingredients. REALLYDELICIOUS! This will be our new favorite place. Welcome to Guilford, Rocco’s! To those who came the first week they opened(I heard it was crazy), I would recommend giving them another try — they have a full, well-trained, friendly staff and the food is fantastic!

We tried Roccos last night. It was busy. Plenty of counter help and waitresses and seated fairly quickly. While we were waiting for the waitress to take our orders I had plenty of time to observe. Counter staff was overwhelmed no system in place. Two out of the three waitresses were chewing gum. I watched as our waitress touched every piece of the bread she was giving us with her hands that have been all over the restaurant. No dishes were provided with the bread and butter but that was ok since we weren’t going to eat it. She took our orders. Have no idea what her name was since she didn’t introduce herself. Not friendly chewing gum and being bothered she had to take orders and answer 2 questions we had. The food I can not judge since I had only a few bites of my macaroni since I was so turned off at this place by now. Did not wrap to go. Sauce was sweet. Fyi. Will not be going back and will not recommend just because of sanitary reasons to begin with.

Rocco’s is a good example of why I enjoy living in the New Haven area. Only in this part of the state can a no-name pizza place open up one day and instantly make a pizza that is better than 95% of the pizzas in NYC. Yes NYC, where I used to live and a city many consider to be the pizza capital of the universe. Fortunately for us five star pizzerias are a dime a dozen in these parts. Originally I was going to knock this place because of its silly«Off Wooster» reference. Although I’m familiar with pizzerias in and around Wooster Street I never heard of any Rocco’s. I’m told there is a connection between the place and Abate’s. However their pizza does taste like something coming from Wooster Street so I’ll overlook the whole stupid name thing. Yes, it does taste like pizza from Wooster Street, actually New Haven pizza in general. It covers all the New Haven pizza basics… chewy, charred, salty, droopy, oblong, greasy, and(perhaps the best part) really messy. I loved it. The interior isn’t anything to write home about. I’m not sure if I would eat inside. But the take-out worked great for me and I’d return again for take-out. With so many excellent pizza joints now available in Guilford it’s becoming extremely difficult to decide where to order a pizza. Do I order from Grand Apizza? Do I order from Bufalina? Do I order from Anthony’s. They’re all terrific. Heck, Anthony’s is even directly across the street from Rocco’s. It should be interesting to see if the two can co-exist together. However they’re not exactly the same business because Anthony’s is much much bigger in size and offers a more traditional Italian restaurant experience.

Not quite 4 full stars but the pizza was good. They just need to iron out the kinks-hopefully they are able to stay open long enough for that to happen.

Tried Rocco’s the first weekend they were open and they were extremely disorganized. The wait staff, although very friendly, were absolutely terrible. It took over 1 hour to get our food and when we questioned when the food would be coming out we were simply told by the waitress that she didn’t know as she just takes the orders and hands them off to the kitchen. Wrong answer ! In addition, the restaurant was so noisy that you couldn’t hear the person next to you. Hopefully they will get their act together, but I will not be back.

Went to try out the new Rocco’s off Wooster on Saturday night. The first thing that stood out to me was the staff, my girlfriend and I were seated immediately by a very kind waitress who knew the menu from top to bottom and even made suggestions. We went with the«Prisco’s gotta have it» pizza and«The Goat» pizza, which aside from being unique, were amazing! To top it off, for dessert we ordered a Nutella pizza(which the name speaks for itself). We can’t wait to try all of the other pizza’s they have, will definitely be going back.

We tried Rocco’s the 2nd or 3rd night they were open, they were super busy and a little disorganized(understandably). Really friendly staff including the guys in the kitchen. Dining area was full. We ordered a two topping pizza and a calzone for take out. The small pizza was really small, but more importantly the pizza had really thick crust and was rock hard — -it didn’t remind me of New Haven Pizza in any way. Calzone was under cooked and the sauce was bland, we didn’t eat the calzone. Will give them another shot in the future as the staff was super friendly.
