I ate here during the New Haven Grand Prix event. They had a section of local food trucks and this was my favorite. I had a slice mashed potato and bacon. It was wonderful. The service was friendly, and we were able to select which slice we would like. After throwing it in their oven for about 30 seconds, it was hot and yummy. I’m not a huge fan of tons of burnt charcoal on the bottom of my pizza, so I really like their crust. My favorite pizza places in the area are Bar and Pepes. This slice was right up there for me.

Pizza is okay, but from my perspective, and in the general vicinity of the genesis of the wood fired pizza movement, you could do better. A bit pricey as well: a large special, large cheese and small veggie tipped the scales at nearly $ 60 bones. That’s a pretty steep hill to climb unless you are really bringing that flavor sherpa goodness, and unfortunately Naples just isnt mountaineering like that, nahmsayin’? Not bad, just not worth the dough– and certainly not when better options abound.

I love Naples. They treat you like family. Tonight I wanted something different than pizza. They had something on the menu called the ‘pizza pop’. Needless to say it was delicious and perfect for me since it’s exactly like a calzone but, without ricotta cheese, just mozzarella cheese with your toppings. Comes with a generous side of sauce. It’s one of the cheaper things on the menu too which did not disappoint! It’s a small place which really doesn’t matter because their food is just so good. They also serve foxon park soda! Try it out!

If you’re looking for a no-frills, simple, quality take out pizza joint, Naples won’t disappoint. We’ve gotten pizza(and various side dishes) here twice, and each time we’ve been impressed with the tastey, chewy crust, and the fresh toppings. The owner is always friendly when I enter the shop, which is a nice touch. Prices are comparable to other pizza places in the area

Had great pizza today from their truck… Great variety of pizza. I personally liked the mashed potato bacon garlic… The kids loved the Nutella pizza… cannolis fresh made and they had 3 kinds of gelato. Highly recommend them I took a couple of their flyers. I’ve had pizza from 2 other trucks in the past but none were as good is this…

I ordered a gluten free pizza from Naples last Saturday. When I got there, they had made it with the regular crust — so I had to wait an additional 20 minutes while they made the correct order. The cashier in front seemed new and was actually friendly. However, I was charged the $ 12 the pizza cost — Neither the cashier nor the boss(who was in earshot) offered it to me for free or at least a discount. When I questioned them about this, I got blank stares. Honestly!!! The gluten free pizza is ok, only place around that even offers that option. For someone who’s gluten free by allergy this is extremely frustrating. Not to mention the fact that that 1 gluten free pizza is less than 9 inches in diameter and serves 1 person and costs $ 12. Seriously? Overall Naples scores pretty low with me –No common courtesy, no professionalism, and being cheap on ingredients — Not impressed.

Naples is our go to neighborhood pizza place. The thick crust pizza always hits the spot. We usually get the Naples special which comes with a variety of toppings but not too much. The crust is nice and crispy. And the sauce is always good. And when they say 20 minutes they mean it. The other thing we really like about Naples is the rest of the menu. We often get the tomato and basil bread which is very tasty with fresh tomato, garlic, and plenty of cheese. We have also enjoyed entrees like the eggplant Parmesan and the veal parm. They always taste like home cooked meals with great sauce and healthy portions. The owner is great and makes an effort to remember your name and his staff is always friendly and attentive.

Great traditional pies. A shame what the big box stores did to the restaurant, but the quality of the pizza did not suffer.

Good New Yawk Style Pizza… The Sicilian although a little heavy on the sauce is incredible… Pizza by the slice is always yummy and hard to find in CT for some reason

I grew up coming to Naple’s as a kid. The pizza was always good. Now its just a small takeout place but the food is still great!

I have been getting takeout from this place for quite a while and it is fine. I usually like a thinner crust, but its not bad and if I am feeding the family it works just fine. I get the Naples Special which has a lot of stuff but its not overloaded.

Solid pizza. It is above-average and very cheap to boot. If you don’t prefer New Haven style pizza, this is the place to go, but if you like New Haven style pizza, try C&C Pizza or The Red Tomato.

Back in the day I remember Naples as one of those dark pizza parlors with the wooden booths with some names carved in, where you could grab a good hot pie and a cold pitcher of beer. Naples always seemed like a happening cool place when I was a small kid. When we moved Vicky’s Corner Restaurant in Madison became the new spot to get a great pie. Times have changed, Vickys has been gone for over a decade it seems and Naples has been reduced to a take out joint for the most part, due to big box expansion, but one thing remains, great pies. Their pizza has a chewy, kinda soft doughy crust, with good amount of mozz and a tasty sauce, it’s a little different from all the other pizza joints, but it’s a good different. It tastes a little more like some New York places thenthe typical New Haven style. If you find yourself on route 1 in Guilford pop in for a pie, it’s located in the Plaza anchored by Big Y and Walmart, across the street from«the Place».
