Beautiful hike! I had such a good time. The views are some of the best I have seen. Overall it is a very long way to get to the beach, about 5 miles. We took a shortcut so it was only about 4 miles. There’s not a lot of shade so bring a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen. To get down to the beach it was a little hard because there was no actual trail. I got a scratch or 2 getting down to the beach so just be careful. Definitely glad I went on a sunny and clear day, you can see the beautiful coast for miles!

Love point sal! There are a few trails you can take but I only know 2. One is a short cut to the beach but it’s a little more intense that takes you up steep areas and the other one is less steep but longer. The views are incredible and looks beautiful when everything is so green! Dogs are allowed which is awesome !

Been going to Point Sal for sometime now, and it’s honestly such a beautiful experience. For starters I always feel like I’m in the«Jurassic Park» when roaming the paths of this hike. It’s a dog friendly trail that takes you to a captivating view and beach of the central coast ocean. It may seem like quite the walk, but it’s more then worth it and an accomplishment to share with family and friends :) if you haven’t checked this spot out, the time is now :)

It’s a grueling 10 mile hike round trip if you take the road seems like people ignore the signs and cut through private property as there are«trails» cut where it clearly says no trespassing. Why is it grueling it’s all uphill(3miles) until the last 2 miles then it’s a steep downhill. Honestly when we saw that last decline how steep it was thought there was no way I’d make it back up. So we enjoyed the view from the top without descending the ridge. It looks like others have trudged a trail through other places again private no trespassing areas. We were not willing to do that. You will get a workout for sure and have amazing views if you venture to this area and many do even with small children. They must know something we didn’t.
