IFYOUARELOOKINGFORGOODFOOD, NOTYOURPLACE! Really disappointed in this place. The salsa looks and taste just like diced tomato sauce, the beans tasted like they had been warmed from the previous day. I ordered three tacos and they where fairly large but my taco had all brown lettuce in all three, the beef i had also reminded me of taco bell as soon as i bit in to it. I was excited for taco tuesday but it was a huge let down. first and last time for this place!

Large space with plenty of seating. Good bar with nice selection of domestic and mexican beer. Chips are crispy. Food menu is extensive. Flexible with the combination platters.

The food was fine, so were the margaritas. It is typical Mexican food in the suburbs. It was really weird though when I asked if their bean and cheese dip had meat and the server had to ask the kitchen. The server came back and let me know there was bacon in the beans. So I asked if these were the same beans in the vegetarian items(my husband is vegetarian) and he said yes. For real?! I now do not trust any Mexican restaurant with dedicated vegetarian menus.

33⁄4 stars, which I guess rounds up. This place is a bit out of the way in a strip of five or so stores, but is pretty decent. My friends live close by, so I stop in every now and then. It’s not a bad spot. On my last visit, I had the Burrito Benito. It had some good flavour and the jalapeños provided a good kick, but not one that lingered painfully. Their margaritas are… decent, in part because of the attractive drink specials they sometimes offer. I also noticed that they do nightly specials(I think the Monday I was there, one of them was $ 1 chicken or beef tacos). Overall, I like this place. I’m not sure how it stacks up against other Mexican joints in the Augusta area, as I’ve only been to Salsa’s. But if you’re in the area, you could do much worse for dining out.

My husband and I came here for lunch and we were both pleasantly surprised. The salsa was very good. Not to spicy but not tomato soup. The cheese dip was great. It was actually hot instead of barely warm. Big plus for me! We both had the lunch chimichanga with beans. We both enjoyed our meals. The place itself it very clean. They don’t have a bar but sell alcohol. You can’t beat the lunch prices! $ 4.95 for a lunch chimichanga! All of there lunch items are under $ 10 but most are under 6 $. That’s a heck of a deal for good food! We will definitely be coming back!

3.5 stars– This is becoming our go-to Mexican restaurant. I’m sure most people don’t know this location exists, because it’s kind of off the beaten path a bit. Our waiter was helpful last night and recommended some dishes. Be forewarned, the burritos are as big as your face! My husband got the Burrito Jalisco(carnitas, onions, tomatoes, bell peppers, white cheese and green sauce) and I ordered the Fajitas Guadalajara(a combination of beef, chicken and shrimp). Both of our plates were delicious! My fajitas were served with tortillas and a plate with guacamole, sour cream and beans & rice. They have really good lunch specials throughout the week, as well.

I’m only giving two stars because they were clean. The food is a salty heart attack. I’m only speaking for the beef that was in my bogus burrito, salty dry enchilada, and dried out tamale. I came here because of a coupon. I wish I wouldn’t have. The plating was like my son served dinner, you ate it out of respect. Ummm I would say the horchata was good but it was truly too sweet. I’ll try them in the summer hopefully something would change. PS it’s the winter, I ate coming back my stomach hurts. Ewww

Food was okay. My daughter accidentally left her cell phone on the table and immediately went back inside to retrieve it only to find the table cleared and the phone missing. I called her phone and could hear it ringing in the kitchen. Management was no help. GPS on the phone showed the restaurants location. Never got the phone back. Very disappointed in the lack of honesty by employees and management was.

Great local Mexican place. They treat everyone like family. Go there very often. If they don’t know you, they get to know you, & they remember you. It’s just they great feeling of one big happy family. They are great with kids and love joking and playing around with them. Good family environment.

We first stumbled upon Azteca Maya because its location is convenient to our house. We’ve continued going back because of the service. More restaurants would do well to learn what the folks at Azteca Maya have learned: parents are happiest when they don’t feel like their kids are an inconvenience. We first started visiting Azteca Maya when our little one was just learning to feed himself. We took great pains to keep his mess at a minimum, but when things did happen, the staff always took care of it with a smile. Over time, they began to ooh and aah and over him during our weekly visits and ask how everyone was when we skipped our visits in favor of a carry-out order. The food is not as wonderful as many Mexican restaurants I’ve visited, and it sort of bugs me that I have to order many things a la carte, but that seems to be about par for the course with Mexican restaurants in this area. Azteca Maya wins on service.

Came here during a rainy Thursday for lunch. Seating was quick and the waiter… not so much. Waiter forgot the orders twice, forgot to bring the sides we ordered, and forget to bring the rice and beans that came with our meals. Huge selections of food, tasty chips and salsa, and the food itself(enchiladas, tacos, and burritos) was not as good as anticipated. Avoid the tacos, they’re pretty crappy and use cheap shells with ground beef and ice berg lettuce. Most Mexican restaurants make them with chopped steak, onions, and cilantro with soft corn tortillas. If i wanted water-downed Mexican food I would’ve went to Taco Bell. The money is in the details, this place has potential. Pros: *Cheap *Huge menu selection *Free chips and salsa *Nice Owner Cons *Weak waiter *Not as authentic as it should be *Did I mention weak waiter?

I come to Azteca Maya every week simply because the food is great! The service is also very good. If you are looking for near-authentic Mexican food in Augusta /Grovetown look no further!

Score another one for Unilocal. The little lady and gentleman who run this place are as friendly as can be. We might have had some of the best Mexican food between Augusta and Atlanta. If you’re trucking down I-20 on this stretch, then this little stripmall cantina is worth going the short hop off the interstate!

I love the location — it’s right on Columbia Rd. at the entrance to Ivy Falls Subdivision, near Patriots Park. However, I’m not quite as impressed with the food as I was hoping to be. The basics(salsa, chips, refried beans, rice) were less than spectacular. The refried beans were dry. I had enchiladas which were good and my husband enjoyed his chimichanga. You absolutely can’t get better prices or service. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive, and we both ate lunch(including tip) for $ 15. They do have some great looking dishes on their menu, so we intend to go back and try it for dinner one night. I think we’ll have better luck with some of their specialty dishes.
