I recently moved to the area, and needed to find someone who could do Brazilian blowouts. I did a search on Unilocal,and found Sam Volpe’s salon. I might have passed it over thinking that the salon specialized in color treatments. Thanks to his excellent reviews, I could see that Sam could do it all! Since the first blowout, I’ve had him trim and highlight my hair, and couldn’t be happier. Best of all, I can honestly say I’ve never had more fun getting my hair done.
I highly recommend Sam if you are looking for someone with expertise in styling, coloring, or straightening.

We’ve all been to those busy loud salons with 15 stylists-​it can feel a bit hectic! Well, if you are looking for a more personal, relaxing experience — you can find it right here in Grover. Sam runs a very clean, modern shop and really gives the client his undivided attention.
Finding a new hair stylist you trust is a challenge. However, I felt very at ease that my hair was in good hands after talking with Sam. He has a very easy going, friendly personality and does a good job of giving advice without being pushy. I wanted to take off very little length and Sam did a great job. He was also really easy to talk to and made me laugh all throughout the session. I also appreciated that Sam did not try to push products or services onto me as that’s a peeve of mine. I truly felt that he cares about his clients because he spent over an hour with me and did not rush whatsoever.

Sam continues to do his best with my hair. He is so accommodating with my schedule that I feel bad for being his last client. But what he does to my hair ~ oh my goodness! He is super honest on what he feels is best for my look, but always willing to do what I want. Thank you so much Sam for everything! You are awesome!

I was in town with my son at a Cal Poly orientation and both my son and I needed a haircut BAD! Sam is the best at men’s haircuts! My 18 year old son is super picky and he I still extremely happy with how his turned out. My haircut is perfect and so easy to wash and go with no hassle. Very talented guy, my son will be going here in the fall for sure!

Sam is a true artist when it comes to hair color. He pays such attention to detail and I always leave with such a natural color that is rich and healthy looking. I also can’t say enough about the quality of his haircuts. He always gives me an up to date look that is so easy to style and just falls into place. He is truly the best!

Genius is all I can say I have never been to anybody that is better more professional and extremely caring about he outcome my hair has been fried by people that think that they are all that I have had orange hair for 5 years I’ve been to at least two different salons a year trying to explain that I don’t want to look like orange crush Sam got it in one thank you thank you

I can’t claim to be as objective in my review as are the others since Sam is my brother, but I think that he’s been cutting my hair longer than just about anyone else. In addition, I think that I know him better than his other clients.
Sam has been in the business since the mid 1970s, and despite that, he still loves what he does. He has clients that have been coming to him since he first started out. He genuinely cares about his clients. And unlike a lot of stylists, he isn’t content to just do what he has always done; instead, he makes it a priority to stay current.
Sam just opened the salon this year, and I am so proud of what he has done with it. Next time you’re going to be in the neighborhood, give him a call, get in to see him, and you’ll love what he does for you.

I just got the best haircut and color from Sam and had a great time doing it!
I’m not necessarily one to enjoy going to the salon — have a hectic schedule and don’t like to take the time — but I’ve been struggling with «a few» ;) silver hairs peeking through, and have needed more frequent coloring over the past year or so. So my hair had really begun to look over-​processed and I had been pondering a change for some time. Came upon Sam through a coupon I clipped. He did such a fantastic job that I didn’t want to use the coupon. I just felt lucky to have stumbled upon him!
The color looks great! Very natural. And the cut is the best I’ve had in many years. Sam provides the quality of a big city salon right here in south county and at much better pricing. And the salon is warm and inviting while Sam is a joy to chat with. He is a ‘go with the flow’ guy who seems the type to adjust to any client mood or personality. Loved it! Five stars. Highly recommend.

Sam’s been doing my hair for many years now. I constantly get compliments and love how I look when I walk out the door. Not only is he a wonderful stylist but he just has a fantastic personality and really makes every appointment special. I highly recommend Sam.

I have been going to Sam for a while now for fabulous color and great cuts. What I love is that my color doesn’t always get noticed. I dont want someone to know that I have to keep coloring my greys at my age… what does get noticed is how fantastic my hair looks and that happens pretty often… «your hair looks awesome today!» .that always warms my heart :) Sam is a great stylist and host. I walked in to a salon 21 years ago and found the man who would exclusively cut and color my naturally curly hair for the next 21 years! Sam is simply the best. If you’re looking for someone who does a fabulous job and is completely professional, look no further. I only wish Sam and I didn’t live so far apart so that I could visit his new salon.
