We were so pleasantly surprised to discover how fabulous the food was! We stayed at EGL last weekend along with friends. We all thought the food was delicious! Amazingly creative and fresh vegetables! We loved the combination of veggies and flavors used. We couldn’t get enough! Even stayed late the last night so we could have dinner before we left! Loved the kale salad, gnocchi special, and the garbanzo bean special! We even asked to meet the Chef Jesse. He came out to say hello! Well done! Continued success.

This restaurant is a hidden gem in Yosemite! We stayed at the lodge and due to it’s secluded nature, we were expecting mediocre food with inflated pricing. We couldn’t be more wrong. Every meal we had was absolutely amazing and well worth it. On the first night, we had the Brussel sprouts and the burrata and melon for our appetizers(highly recommend the burrata!), followed by the elk meatloaf, pesto pasta, tamales and lamb burger. On the second night, we had the elk meatloaf, chicken two ways and the salmon. All of these were great, but particularly recommend the meatloaf, salmon, and chicken two ways. We also managed to have breakfast, which was fantastic! My friend said that the eggs florentine was the best she has ever had. My boyfriend loved his scramble and I loved the basted eggs. This place has a magical feel to it, and it’s hard not to fall for it’s charm. But if was an added benefit that the food was excellent, and the service was great. Ashton was particularly great; chilled and not overbearing, but so friendly. We already can’t wait to return!

Evergreen Lodge is locked away deep in the mountains about 15 minutes off the road into Yosemite. They could so easily trap lodge guests with mediocre and overpriced food, but they don’t, holy cow do they not. That was a truly incredible meal. I almost wish I’d stayed there longer solely for the food. Great service as well. Our waiter initially forgot the tomato bisque soup we ordered, but when I mentioned it to him, he immediately brought it out free of charge. Well done. For entrees, I had the bison and chorizo burger. Superb, haven’t had a burger quite like it. Loaded with meat, perfectly cooked, and full of interesting flavors. I’d been looking forward to trying this burger when I made reservations there and it somehow lived up to my lofty expectations. My girlfriend had the bacon-wrapped meat loaf which was great. Don’t remember exactly what meat it was, but it was great and the bacon actually wasn’t overly fatty. The whole meal’s a bit pricey, but when you’re there, you just gotta go for it. It’ll be well worth it. I’m glad I didn’t bring any food up to Evergreen. Fantastic restaurant
