Charlie’s Chicken

I love Charlie’s Chicken restaurants. The Charlie’s in Miami, OK is great as well as most of the others I have eaten at in Tulsa, Okmulgee and other towns. However, I do not love this Charlie’s. In fact, I hate this Charlie’s and have sworn that no matter what I would never return to it.
My girlfriend and I have a laundry list of complaints about this particular restaurant. We gave it chance after chance to keep us as customers and it continued to disappoint time after time.
We have almost never arrived home with anything close to what we ordered. We have arrived at peak meal times (lunch and dinner) to find they would have to cook everything from chicken to rolls which would be long wait times. When we would check our orders to find they were incorrect, we would request a correction and have snotty high school kids try to tell us we got what we ordered or replace the items with cold or old items.
The final straw for us was a particularly nasty experience where we went through the drive through, ordered, pulled to the window and were told something was cooking and we would have to wait five minutes. We agreed, paid, and began to wait. We waited for almost 20 minutes with nobody again coming to the window. We were watching inside to see what was going on and saw three young guys just totally jacking around with each other and not doing any kind of work. One of the guys walked directly in front of the window and was scratching his balls and then walked back into the food preparation area. We honked the horn and finally some snotty high school guy came to the window and said, «What do you want?» We said we wanted the food we paid for and he rudely started to tell us that we were told up front that we would have to wait for it. I demanded my money back and the next day called the corporate office to discuss our history of problems with the District Manager. She was concerned and offered some compensation. I told her it was too late for that and that they had already lost my business for good but I wanted to inform her how her business was being ran.
We have still not returned to this Charlie’s and I will not under any circumstances.

They claim it’s the best fried chicken in Grove. Personally, I wasn’t impressed. I found it tasteless. Also did not care for waiting at the counter to order. From the outside appearance I always assumed it was table service. Just not my cup of tea. If I want friend chicken ordered from the counter, I’ll go to Kentucky Friend.

As far as THIS Charlie’s is concerned… It’s the worst. Been to Joplin and Miami, both of those are FANTASTIC! This one, not so great… The absolute worst thing is the hateful people working there, also typically you can hear the cooks screaming over the noise of the fryers about smoking drugs and masturbation. The food is always old, or they are out of their staple items like fried chicken lol. The bathrooms are disgusting. I typically give a place 3 chances before I stop going there, I gave this place 4 because I got a gift certificate. Every visit was bad. Turns out the best fried chicken in town is Catfish Johns, lol.

Surprising good. 15% of the time you may have to wait. The wait usual ranges from 4 – 13 minutes, and is totally worth it.
The menu ranges from meatloaf to chicken gizzards. They also have options for vegetarians.
They have a back room available for parties and family get togethers. Perfect place to go for a family meal.
