White Castle

I’ve been coming to this particular White Castle off and on for 15 years for their coffee and breakfast. I’m always blown away by the above average service; it’s heads and shoulders better than any fast food establishment including Starbucks. These ladies are so genuinely sweet and accommodating. The latest example is this morning. I have been trying to drink more decaf coffee lately and Starbucks (my favorite coffee place) always seems so put out that they have to do a pour over. White Castle was above and beyond sweet about making me some fresh decaf; as if they were GLAD to do it. Thanks, Ladies. You always make my day!

The food was fresh. The faces were friendly. The fries had an ample amount of cheese on them. My cat watched me intently, has I ate the whole thing.

I took my kids to White Castle bec we are visiting family in Ohio and it’s a must. They loved it.

Its a chain. Only thing about White Castle is, you either love them or hate them. I love these sliders! So yeah I get ‘em every time I see a store.

You might have to wait an extra minute or two in the drive-​through, but you will get your order hot, fresh, and accurate. This place is a great White Castle and always there for a quick snack.

TMI Warning: I grew up on White Castles, and they don’t exist in Virginia. So every time I visit Ohio, I stop in. They’re still delicious, and I could eat probably 12 of them without batting an eye, but boy oh boy, my stomach cannot handle them anymore. I ate just two, trying to avoid their wrath, but my stomach revolted for the next 48 hours. No exaggeration.

Ate the pulled pork sliders here ONCE a few summers ago after being out fishing late & not having any other food option. I went to the hospital the next evening for severe stomach pain and dehydration after puking/​sitting on the toilet all night and all day the next day… consider yourself warned.

A review of White Castle?
What’s the point? It’s only barely food. It doesn’t pretend to be anything but keep-​your-​belly-​full calories.
If you’re eating Whitey’s while you’re sober, you’re doing it wrong.
I wouldn’t give it any stars — because, again, what’s the point — but you have to give it stars to post a review. So I give it an arbitrary 5 stars because it does what it conventional wisdom says it will do: puts food in drunk stomachs.
(DISCLAIMER: I haven’t eaten Whitey’s in LIT-​TRALLY (a la Chris Trager) years. Again, what’s the point?)

White Castle = Over-​Hyped
I know better too since this isn’t my first time to have White Castle. About 10 years ago when I was in Ohio, I was told that they had the best sliders. I tried it and was extremely disappointed. Fast forward to now and I got the same experience. Service is great, but the sliders are just junk. First of all, very little meat. Second, no taste except the overpowering pickle. Third, soggy like it was cooked in the microwave. Lastly, really not fresh.
Over in the West Coast, people talk about how they miss White Castle. I’m still trying to figure out what they miss. If it’s the great service, then I get it. If it’s the price, yes it’s cheap. I’m just confused. White Castle’s sliders are missing a lot, including taste.
PS: At least these are cheap, only $.69 a slider.
