I enjoyed the best piece of chocolate layer cake from Bliss Bakery-generously sized at a very reasonable price. It was moist but with a light texture, and the icing was heavenly!

Stopped by one morning to get some bread for dinner. The bread wasn’t out of the oven yet so I decided to wait the 15 minutes. To kill time I got a cinnamon bun and coffee to kill the time. The cinnamon bun was by far the best I have ever had. I ended up leaving full and with a fresh loaf of bread for dinner that had been out of the oven less than 10 minutes. Overall a great trip.

Bliss Bakery is a very odd little shop. When you first go in, you can’t tell if it’s a bakery, a café or anything in-between. However– despite the appearances and somewhat lack of parking the beautiful creations they make are truly wonderful. I had my wedding cake made here, and my consult with the head baker was very smooth and she gave me exactly what I was looking for and at a very reasonable rate! They do lovely work with and without fondant. My cake was entirely buttercream and my frosting was a custom strawberry mix that was very light and didn’t taste fake either without altering the color of the icing. My guests loved the cake as well as it wasn’t too dry or crumbly and the blue icing they used was very lightly colored and didn’t stain anyones mouths. So I’m guessing it was a natural dye or a less harsh one which I appreciated ! The delivery was smooth and I can’t thank them enough for the wonderful cake they made and what a great job they did with the fine detail work I wanted in the icing. Overall, the environment is a bit odd but for event cakes, special orders, custom orders, etc I highly recommend them!

Bliss is a bakery worth driving out of your way to enjoy, if for no other reason than tasting one of the best croissants I’ve ever had, anywhere. Their pies, bread, and sticky buns are all excellent as well. Make sure to come early — it’s a small, locally-owned business and occasionally sells out of popular items. If Groton is too far, the Harvard General Store usually sells Bliss croissants and a few of their other baked goods.

Bliss is terrific. The Multigrain bread is tops. They have a wonderful selection of savories to complement sweets. I frequently get their weekly dinner specials and they vary from heavenly yum to super yum. The service is great. Shari is a sweetie and the staff are lovely.

Just what I have been looking for! A cute little bakery with delicious treats and a cozy atmosphere! I got a whoopie pie and it was the best I have had since my grandmothers!(And I have had a lot, always in search of a classic recipe!) I also got a chocolate/caramel covered rice Krispy treat that was to die for! Service was great even though I came in during the hour before closing the girls working were helpful and friendly! Great experience can’t wait to go back!

Just stopped by on our way out of the area. It was the only café open at 3 on a Saturday and we were so happy all the others were closed. Great sandwiches prepared with care, gourmet coffee, and above-and-beyond service. The cashier made sure we got a combo discount, even though we got coffee rather than sodas, and then actually ran out after us when we forgot our chips. Will definitely be coming back.

Went apple picking yesterday and stopped for a delicious lunch at Bliss Bakery in Groton center. The shop itself is adorable, with a small seating section if you want to eat in, which we did. They offer fresh HOMEMADE baked bread and bakery items, as well as soup and sandwiches. As we were interested lunch, I was very pleased by their sandwich options. My husband and I each had the Bliss Beast, which was a yummy roast beef and Boursin cheese sandwich, and my daughter had the Californian, which was turkey, avacado, and garlic aoili. As tasty as those sandwich combinations were, the homemade bread was the show stealer. Seriously. Fresh, homemade, crunchy crusty bread! It was so good, we bought a huge sour dough loaf to go! Where you place your order, there is a big glass case displaying their baked goods. While we didn’t «need» dessert after lunch, we could not resist trying a few of their homemade treats. I got the whoopie pie(the marshmallow filling was delicious!), my husband got a buttery/nutty/crispy shortbread-sort-of bar(forgot the name, but it was awesome), and my daughter got a chocolate covered fudgy cake pop. All were amazing. So, if you live or work nearby, or if, like us, you are just passing through, definitely skip the fast food coffee giant option across the street, and give Bliss Bakery a try. You will not be disappointed!(There is a parking lot in the back!)b

Anytime I’m in the Groton area, I always make time to stop by Bliss! I’ve got plenty of great bakeries to choose from in the Boston area, but I really think Bliss is better than most. They tend to have a smaller selection than average, but every single thing I’ve had knocks my socks off. It’s all about quality over quantity, right? The savory soups, quiches and tarts are always just amazing. Most recently, they had a tomato basil soup, served with a piece of baguette, that just made my day. I couldn’t leave without buying a whole baguette to take home. And their delicious, delicious baked goods. Their whoopie pies are my favorite, but last time I was there, I was tempted away from that chocolatey goodness by a lime tart they had out to sample. Not something I would ever have thought to get, but it was such a tasty balance of creamy, tart lime filling on a perfectly crumbly crust, I couldn’t say no. If I ever need a cake or dessert for a large party or event, I’ll happily trek up to Groton to get it from Bliss! :)

Attempted to give this bakery another shot at winning my business. Their hours on the website and on Unilocal said they were open till 7PM. We showed up and there was a sign on the door saying that they close at 6PM. Ugh! Very bizarre bakery! It tries to be a liquor store, café, prepared food takeout, and bakery. Make up your mind. We have been here three times in an attempt to support local businesses. Service is consistent, consistently horrible. We paid for items and the staff would forget to give them to us. Coffee pots are never filled and we had to buy a large coffee because they were out of small cups. Similar experiences all three times. One morning we went early before kids sports(about 9am) and they were unable to sell us several loaves of bread because their orders were all taken. Asked for milk for our daughter and they pointed us to a refrigerator that just had beer and soda. When we told them that there was no milk they just shrugged it off like«I guess we are out of milk». Other reviews are being generous. I only hope that I go back and find that it has gotten significantly better.

I was attracted to Bliss for their bread, but they also make amazing sweet and savory pastries, sell wine and regional cheeses, and have something wonderful simmering in the crock pot every day. I have tried many of their creations, which range in quality from outstanding to perfection-on-a-fork. Perfection: Parker House Rolls and anything with a crust. My Favorites: Sticky Buns, Focaccia(split in half, top with fresh mozzerella & tomatoes, bake at 425 for amazing pizza), Baguettes, Pancetta and Gorgonzola Crostata, Berkshire Blue Cheese from Berkshire Cheese in Lenox, MA, and the best biscuits and gravy east of the Mississippi. Bliss is now open late on Thursdays and Fridays, making it easier to pop in for a fresh loaf of bread and a bottle of wine to go with dinner. The owner and staff are always welcoming and friendly.

So happy to finally have a bakery close by, let alone an amazing one! Butter is definitely an ingredient NOT used sparingly, but that’s why everything is soooo yummy!!! Scones: buttery and yummy Cookies: Just. So. Good. Sticky buns: sticky sweetness Muffins got a thumbs up from the kiddos And most recently I ordered my daughter’s birthday cake. Yellow with fudge frosting. This cake was so moist! Ridiculously good! So worth the splurge! And the owner was easy to work with and was able to be flexible in my changing the size of the cake just a day ahead of pick up. Love Bliss bakery!!!

Great addition to Groton. I go every Saturday for my fix of Focaccia. The staff is very friendly and the food is excellent. I asked them to make an onion board for Thanksgiving. No problem they where happy to oblige. They have an excellent selection of baked goods/ Well worth a visit

After hearing yesterday that Bliss Bakery was open limited hours now(Tues-Sat, 8:30 to 5, at the moment), my kids and I rushed over after school to try their treats for the first time! Although they don’t have their shelves and bakery cases full yet since they are still ramping up, the selections they did have looked scrumptious. We bought brownies, coffee cake, a cake pop and a loaf of sourdough bread. My 8 year old declared the coffee cake the best he’d ever had and my husband and daughter thoroughly enjoyed the brownies. My cake pop was moist, tasty and the perfect size for a treat. We all loved the bread, too! Bliss also sells coffee, wine and beer. There is one small table and a small counter with some stools if you want to eat in the store. Bliss is a fabulous addition to downtown Groton!
