This shelter is EXTREMELYSMALL. I’m guessing it’s like an overflow shelter? seeing as Butte County has high level kill shelters, this would make sense. You have to have an appointment to even walk through the door, which is odd, but not my main complaint here. The ONLY animal control officer that works there, is extremely, extremely, EXTREMELY rude! I heard that a sweet dog was there and was scheduled to be put down. Seeing as i have a huge soft spot in my heart for animals, and especially Pitbulls, i found a picture of the dog and posted it online, hoping and praying that someone would save his life. In return, i got a VERY rude response from Amy Burgess, the animal control officer. Apparently i was«misinformed» about the dog being put to death, and she made it a point to completely crucify me for it. harassing me and asking me where i got the picture of him from, who told me he was being put down, etc. So not only was she very rude to me, but she went and tracked down the person who told me, and screamed at them! Needless to say, she is clearly unprofessional and i dont feel she respresents those poor animals very well at all, let alone the city of Gridley.
