Cafe Roma

Enjoyed their sandwiches via take out until we dined in and noticed the nasty conditions in which the food is made. Makes me very sad because the food was decent but the wife and I couldn’t shake the sights from our head. This was over 2 years ago so maybe things have changed.

Worst food on the westbank

At the moment, the Unilocal prompt in this text box includes the words «help other learn about great local business.» And that’s exactly what I hope to do. The Gretna version of Café Roma is a hidden gem on the west bank. Even if you’ve been to other Cafes Roma, you should know they’re no longer affiliated with one another. This particular one features a very friendly staff, decent location, and great Italian food.
I had the classic lasagne and loved it. Even the salad and bread were delicious. I highly recommend asking for your server’s recommendation. You’ll get some of the most honest food advice you could ever expect, and it will make your experience so pleasant.
One star off for a pratically hidden storefront, a drab dining room with zero décor, and a complete lack of fellow diners. But fear not, new ownership has recently assumed control, and changes are in the planning and preparation stages.
I think with cosmetic changes and better advertising, this could easily become the top italian eatery on the west bank. I highly recommend an excursion to Gretna to experience this Café Roma, particularly if you like small, intimate settings with kind staff and killer food.

Yes! This place is fantastic. They have wonderful sandwiches and pastas. One of my faves to get is actually the «vegetarian» sandwich, which is basically a veggie pizza between two pieces of flat bread, but it’s really good. I’ve also had their chicken pasta which was absolutely fantastic. This place does great take out, if you are just in the mood to place an order and pick it up.

Great homemade pizzas and sandwiches. Everything I’ve had on the menu is awesome. Had the chicken pasta the other night. It’s now my new fave. Delish!!!
