I purchased a Living Social deal for 4 hours of deep cleaning. I had to call and request on three separate occasions that they return my call to schedule the cleaning.
The ladies called at 10:35 on the scheduled day to say they would be early for their 11:30 time slot. Which was fine as I was working from home. They arrived at 10:45 and I asked them to concentrate on bathrooms, kitchen and dusting and vacuuming. If they had time I requested baseboards and spider webs be cleaned. I ran an errand and was gone for an hour and 10 minutes. When I returned, they informed me that they had 20 minutes left and did I want anything else done. I asked them to wipe down a built in hutch and the window sills. 20 minutes later they informed me that everything was complete and left at 12:15. Upon inspecting, there was dust behind every item on every surface and I had to finish the cleaning of the kitchen sink. Not a single item was dusted behind or under, steps weren’t vacuumed even though I had pointed out the need when they first arrived. This doesn’t qualify as deep cleaning as far as I’m concerned. And I shouldn’t have to follow cleaners around with a white glove to get a good job done. In short they owe me another hour of labor.

I was gifted a «3 Hour Cleaning» in the form of a Groupon from my thoughtful mother. I planned to use this between roommates as a way to spruce the place up. I called the number on the Groupon and left a message asking them to call me back so I could set up an appointment. The voicemail clearly states their hours and I always called within that timeframe. A few days went by… no reply. I tried calling again… no reply. After my third message, I received a call back, but was unable to take the call at work. Thus began a 3 week game of phone tag. I was frantic and began calling 2−3x per day. FINALLY I got ahold of someone and was able to schedule an appointment.
One disappointment — even though it clearly stated a «three hour cleaning,» I was told since there were two maids, it would only be 1.5 hours. Hmm…
The coordination was easy. I had the option to leave a key in a hidden spot and text it to the management. I could also text them my groupon number so I didn’t even have to print it off!
The day of the cleaning, I received a phone call during my lunch break from Maid Perfect asking what my apartment number was because they didn’t have it on file. If I hadn’t been on lunch and been able to take the call, who knows if they would have shown up!
I left a list of my top 5 concerns — vacuuming the carpet, cleaning the kitchen floor, the entire bathroom, and the stairs outside. My apartment is only 800 sq ft so it is not difficult to clean! And yet, it was dirty. There were still pieces of plastic laying on the carpet and dust bunnies in the bathroom. Behind the toilet wasn’t even touched and the same shred of toilet paper that was there that morning was still there! When I opened the toilet, there was a giant glob of hair! As for the stairs, it seemed as if someone had started but stopped sweeping halfway through. There were still cobwebs!
I’m not sure if MaidPerfect doesn’t care about quality when it comes to Groupon purchases, but I definitely got what I paid for (nothing! luckily it was a gift!)
