Ok kids, this one is huge. As in really freaking big, because getting your house project done right is one thing, but getting it done in a month? An entire kitchen? Yes. A month. This must be acknowledged properly. I’ve had houses and major projects done on said houses, and I’ve grown to be cynical about it. In my experience, you hire a company– and I mean the good ones, that everyone knows of– not some dude who wants to be paid in beer or my first born, and they never, ever keep their word and never ever finish on time. I even took a cake once, in a previous life to the Sandy Hut to the company that were taking WAY too long on a project and the cake said: Finish my Fucking house. True Story. Cake was eaten, drinks were had, and the project still went on and on… and on. It’s always the same: the demolition starts out great and two months later you’ve got one guy there who puts up drywall for two hours, and then leaves because there’s ‘another’ project and you’re on the back burner. I could go on. But I won’t, because this here was Shockingly good. O’Connell and his crew, Sebastian, and Tony ripped my kitchen out and put it back together in a month. They were here, all of them, every day kicking ass and creating the most beautiful kitchen I’ve ever been lucky enough to use. Oh, and they also fixed my shower while they were here and didn’t charge me– oh and they also didn’t charge me for installing a new water heater. What the what? Who does that? These guys were so great, so absolutely trustworthy and such dedicated craftsmen I salute them and this is a case where I really hope my review is seen by people looking for construction work because these are the guys you’ve been looking for. Yes really. From Master carpentry to a fine design eye(oh glass tile, I love you) to curing me of my construction industry fatigue these guys are IT. I’m a picky girl, and I like to cook and I finally got the appliances of my dreams and these guys treated them carefully and(important!) really truly respected the age of my home(1912) and got all the new stuff in while adding a little vintage vibe with the subway tile and glass tile design. I honestly can’t think of a more deserving 5 star review I’ve done in ages, not one complaint. Oh! I had an emergency trip to Denver when this was going on and I’d already grown to trust these guys and left them a house key to come and go for the few days I was gone. Honestly what else can I say? Oh I know. Thank you guys! You made this project fun, nearly painless, and the result is stunning. I’m posting some photos even though I haven’t put it all back together but this way you’ll see things more clearly anyway and I now have pulls on my drawers too, these are just good before and afters…
