God bless Donna’s. This is one of my favorite places to junk shop in Mississippi. You can find just about anything imaginable in here if you’re willing to do some(i.e. a lot of) digging. I’ve gotten some cool art, furniture, and knickknacks in this place, but half the fun is just looking through everything. A lot of items are pretty damaged, but plenty of things are in great condition and for a great price. Donna can be a bit crabby to deal with, but her son is really nice and accommodating. The biggest downfall is they only accept cash(maybe checks?), so make sure you have some on you before you come in. They’re usually willing to hold stuff for you while you run to an ATM, so it’s not too big of a problem if you forget to bring your moneys. Digging at Donna’s is definitely one of my favorite ways to spend an afternoon with friends while I’m in Grenada. Give ‘er a try!

This is an amazing store filled to the brim with great old piece at reasonable prices. The front room is rather clean and well organized, but the back is where the intrepid explorer finds the real gems. The multiple backrooms are filled with furniture, books, clothes, magazines, bottles, electronics, bikes, tools, sports equipment and kitchen supplies stacked on top of each other. Unfortunately the woman who owns it isn’t able to organize it much anymore so there are some items that have water damage or marks from being improperly stored. HOWEVER, if you are able to find something that works and is in good condition you can get it at a great price. I have purchased 1950s clothing for $ 1 each, a 1980s road bike in great condition for $ 50, and 1960s record player and speakers for $ 24. There are few stores where one can still find items pre-1980 for such a reasonable price. You just have to be able to spend some time(hours) searching and be willing to buy an item that needs a little love(dusting).

If you’re an antiquer/junktiquer in the delta, then you already know about Donna’s. It’s the best place to find what you’re hunting or to spend a bored Saturday afternoon. The front of the store is full of old silverware, dishes, various kitchen items, old postcards, and jewelry. When you get done looking at it all, you’re tired but you think«this is it?» That’s when someone emerges from the back. If it’s your first time there you don’t notice the back, but the back is the main part. It’s a huge warehouse of old books, bottles, clothes, children’s toys, and furniture. I once found an old pair of wooden skis from the 1930’s in there and put them on my rec room wall as décor. Looked great. Another time I got an old victorian period remake couch from there, several great records I wanted, and a few old crocheted blankets I liked. She has lots of chairs, stools, telephone tables, end tables, dressers, wardrobes, and just about every piece of beautiful antique furniture you could want. Check it out. I believe Donna’s is currently only open Thursday through Saturday, please check before making a long drive.
