My husband and I have eaten at the tadpole a lot. I get take out and we eat in. I usually love the food. They give your great helpings and my husband and I usually share a 3 item combo. The lady who is in charge of the take out orders is the nicest person every time I go. My rating is based on my last visit there. We ordered food for my daughter this time as well because we wanted her to try the flounder. I noticed a weird smell when I got in the car but I never thought it would be the fish. The flounder was not edible at all. We all spit it out after trying the first bite. I can’t go back now because I will always remember that flounder. Thank goodness there are other seafood places to go to. Sorry tadpole you lost my business.

Tadpole’s is awesome. The food is consistently delicious. The 25 minute drive to get the food is so worth it. My favs are the crab legs and the salt & pepper Catfish. You might pass the establishment the first time if you aren’t quite sure where it is. It sits in a plaza and is sort of hidden in the back.

Visited on a Friday night at 6:45 pm. The parking lot was full & I expected a long wait to be seated. I was seated and eating my meal within 10 minutes. Great food & friendly service. Tadpoles is not high end dining it’s about the food.

The service was great & our large party didn’t even have to wait. I ordered scallops & my husband got grouper. He loved the grouper & said it was some of the best he had eaten. My food was not hot so I was disappointed. There is now way I am eating lukewarm fish. In their defense, I did not return it to the kitchen. When I bit into my food & it was not hit, I lost my appetite.

The place is much bigger inside than it looks! We came for my sister in laws birthday and we were surprisingly pleased with the place. Our server came by and sat with us while taking our orders. Sweet tea was awesome! The plates, or trays, were freaking huge! Portions were ridiculously large. Slaw was excellent as was the flounder, scallops, and shrimp. Definitely the best fish camp we’ve ever been to. Look forward to next visit to Greer. Mostly fried food, but if that’s what you’re looking for then this is your place.

There are quite a bit of fish camps in this area that I have been to… this is probably my most favorite of them. Service was amazing for 4 of us on 3÷28÷2015. Very quick. If you want a LOT of food, I highly recommend getting a «combination platter» which costs around $ 14. I got calabash chicken, fried grouper and tilapia on mine. Everything tasted amazing(but I did not eat the cole slaw as I generally am not a fan of it). Be aware that there is absolutely no wi-fi or internet reception over here. Kind of strange as there is Wal-Mart and stuff nearby. I will definitely be coming back to the Tadpole. Food was amazing and it blows anything off of Red Lobster out the water.

It has been over 20 years since we gave the Tadpole a try. We should have saved our money. It was just plain bad seafood. The oysters had no taste. The shrimp were hard. The grouper was overcooked and thin. The scallops tasted like breaded fish and were SO tough we couldn’t eat them. The water tasted funny. The coleslaw was way too vinegary and runny. The best thing on my plate was the baked potato. My husband’s fries were cold. It was a $ 30 meal that was terrible. I had an upset stomach immediately after eating and have been eating Tums all evening. We will not go back. The only saving grace was our server who was nice and attentive. I do not remember her name.

The grouper was good. The problem with this place is that the wifi and your telephone reception isn’t there.

Great food and huge portions at a great price. We tried the crab legs and fried grouper and I highly recommend both. They even prepared the melted butter well for the crab. It wasn’t watery and separated like most places. I removed one star because the atmosphere is pretty outdated — well worth it for the food though.

Our family loves it! Tons of food for about $ 8ish. Food comes out super fast and hot. We bring out out of town family and guests here. Great sweet tea!

The food was great and it is very cheap! If you are looking for fancy, this is not the place for you, as décor is ugly and old. If you are hungry and want good food… give this place a try!
