SwainCo, LLC

SwainCo provided basement waterproofing and also rerouted several downspouts to improve drainage near our foundation. They dug several feet down around basement foundation, sealed it, provided a new basement window well feature and also dug downspout extensions and ran them out into the lawn and away from the home.
Ken and Adam Swain are the owners of SwainCo. They are just great to work with. Ken initially came out to evaluate why our basement was wet and taking on water during heavy downpours. We discussed several causes and options including a fairly invasive and expensive drainage system in the basement floor which would involve tearing up some concrete and other things. But Ken suggested going with the less invasive, less expensive fix first to see if that would solve the problem. If that would not create a solution, he suggested we then move to the next step.
The SwainCo crew arrived and completed the work we agreed upon and everything went well. They did a great job and the problem appears to have been solved so far. Once the heavy spring rains return in a few months we will definitely know for sure.
Additionally, about one month after SwainCo finished their job another contractor, working on a totally separate job near our foundation punched a hole in the concrete which then allowed rain and water to begin penetrating the basement. We were so very upset, especially when that contractor simply refused responsibility and would not fix the damage they caused. We called Adam at SwainCo for advice and he went above and beyond what we expected.
He spent quite a bit of time looking at the problem and trying to help us resolve it. Adam personally came back to our home several times, removed bricks from a patio that had been installed and installed a water barrier to fix the problem caused by the other contractor. Adam even personally replaced all the bricks on the patio (which is a difficult job!), fitting them back like a puzzle and he made every effort to bring that patio back to «as new condition». He did a great job, he supplied some of his own materials to do that repair work and on top of that he refused to be paid when we offered! SwainCo fixed another contractor’s damage and they did it out of professionalism and kindness. We were so impressed.
We can not speak more highly of these guys. They are truly a good organization and we will call them again if we ever need any of the services they provide. They are an A++ in our book!
