For the good… They have an awesome selection, one of the best on the southside… not only for beer, but for liquor and wine!
For the bad… Their prices are outrageously expensive, it should be called ‘paymore-​because we have a selection’…
Now for the most annoying part… Go in pick a fabulous wine — that the price stated 45.99 (which on vibino and previously purchased it was 34.99 at all other liquor stores) and then went to have it rung up and it came up as 61.99. Manager advises that the price changed (and that their rep advised them that week that it would change) and that they wouldn’t have the price tags until Monday… The worst part, they wouldn’t honor the price that they had… Who does that? Who has a price indicated and doesn’t honor that…
I won’t shop here again, I won’t trust the high prices and then the higher prices at checkout… That was absolute insanity!

They have a great beer selection. If you love craft beer this is the place to go. The owner has great taste in beer and he makes sure to have the best. He is also into sour beers, so this store has the best sour beer selection I’ve ever seen.

As far a Southside liquor stores goes, this one will blow your mind every time. What I like about the place is its big enough to find something new every time, but still small enough to not get lost in. The only and small gripe I have is that the wine in the racks is sorted by types, so looking for a particular brand name is challenging, albeit you might find a hidden gem. The staff is overwhelming helpful and the prices are of course on par for the course.

This is my go-​to spot on the Southside. They always have a BA selection of EVERYTHING, it’s almost a little overwhelming at times when you go in with an intent to get A, and end up getting A& B & C because alcohol.
The employees are always helpful too — my first time stopping by a really gorgeous guy employee helped me find an easy recipe from his own bartender’s book for a bridal shower drink. They also know what’s going on with the local beer scene, always seem to be well-​stocked with the popular types.

Spacious, clean, well organized, and they carry everything my booze-​loving little heart desires. Basically, if they don’t have what you are looking for you are looking in the wrong spot. Or they have it behind the counter. They went through the 3 Floyds beers so fast they were limiting people on the amount they could buy for awhile. Last time I was in it was on the shelf in the refrigerated section so I don’t think that’s the case anymore.
Seasonal selections are readily available here. Sierra Nevada, New Belgium, Blue Moon, I can find several beers from each of these breweries at any given time here.
This is hands down my favorite local liquor store. The staff are incredibly friendly and have been able to answer all my beer related questions.

Fabulous wine selection and too many beers to count. They’re always willing to help and recommend a special order is available. We were searching for a specific wine and a specific whiskey. They special ordered it for us! This is always our first stop for anything we need because we never have to search. The wine section is very confusing the way it’s organized, however, so I spend more time searching for my purchase, but otherwise, I’m a true blue regular :) Great selections in the chilled wine selections

Great service! I went in to buy a bottle of tequila for my friend’s birthday and they spent 10 minutes explaining how tequila is made and what determines the quality. Very knowledgable staff and a clean store with excellent variety! Definitely our favorite liquor store on the south side!

Location is incorrect, but I wish it wasn’t! Actually located between Fry Rd. and County Line Rd. on the West side of 135. Fantastic selection and decent prices. Very helpful staff.

There’s no shortage of liquor stores on the Southside. After making several unsuccessful stops, the search for a good bottle of wine at a good price for our Christmas feast took me to Payless Liquors. The Payless was spacious, well-​lit, and most importantly, well-​stocked with beer, wine and spirits. The wine selection covered the full range of varietals and regions with bottles that are a half-​step above Mad Dog to very fine wines that will set you back way over a Benjamin. I found a bottle of 2009 Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc (one of my dad’s favorite wines) for $ 20 which was at least $ 5 a bottle cheaper than I’ve seen in any liquor store. A great deal! I also picked up a bottle of Pinot Noir to pair with the Christmas turkey. As for the spirits, Payless has an extensive selection but really shines with its stock of Bourbon and Scotch. Next time I’m visiting for the holidays, Payless will be my first stop for my adult beverage needs.
