Always love going to Luceros. Food is great. Owners friendly and quickly gets to know the ‘regulars’. Favorite is any of the Verde Enchiladas!

This place was dirty and the service was pitiful. Food was bland and unimpressive. We won’t be eating there again. I’m actually surprised it got so many stars… maybe we just went there on a bad day.

Holy wow this place is great. Food can be a little heavy but it’s worth it. The flautas are very good! Definitely my favorite thing to get. Their salsa is also amazing, a little spicy but great. There are so many great options. 100% recommend it if you’re looking for a yummy Mexican restaurant with a friendly environment and staff.

Mole sauce!!! The mole sauce here is AMAZING! You can try it when you order the enchiladas mole. I had three cheese enchiladas smothered in it. I ate every last bite, and I never finish a big plate of food! It’s not spicy, so don’t be afraid to try it. You won’t regret it.

A very nice family owns and operates this Mexican restaurant. Nice selection on the menu and the food really is good, as long as you have some time on your hands. The service is usually pretty slow. However, the quality of the food outweighs the service issue enough to keep us coming back.

Great food and drinks! Be sure to try the frozen mango margarita and guacamole. Staff is excellent as well.

Just moved to Greenwood and been trying the local restaurants. This was the first Mexican restaurant that we have tried. The salsa was very good with lots of flavor. The beans and rice a little blan but OK. I had the huge burrito, it had a little to much rice in it for me. The wife had the chicken chimicanga and she thought it was very good. My daughter had the beans and rice. She did not like it, said it had little flavor. The biggest problem I had was how long it took to get the food, 45 minutes. Its mexican this stuff should come out fast. Even my overly patient wife was asking about the food. Even though I thought it was ok I will be shopping around.

Hands down, the best Mexican restaurant on the south side. The service and food is always great! Their guacamole is the best I’ve ever had. Also the restaurant itself is well kept!

I wish I could comment on how great this place is. It is close to home and would be convenient but we will not be coming here again. The service was TERRIBLE. They were obviously short staffed. It took them almost 15 min to get our orders. I needed a drink refill, but once the food was delivered I didn’t see the waiter again until the check arrived(long after we were done with dinner). The food was okay but not worth the horrible service. I

Decided to check this place out today considering everyone seems to speak highly of it. It’s a pretty non-descript place when you’re driving by, there’s really nothing to visually drag you in. There was only one filled table when we went in. We were greeted and seated promptly, served our drinks, the gratuitous salsa & chips and our meal without incident. Service was good, timing was excellent, food was surprisingly very good! We all were very pleased and we will be returning! Gracious Luceros!

Great Salsa! Service is great too. Décor isn’t the best. It’s pretty dated and«dingy» looking, but the food is better than many other Mexican restaurants. Another great item you wouldn’t expect to be so good is their french fries!!! Seriously, they are totally worth ordering.

I can’t believe this is my 1st time reviewing this place considering I’ve been coming here for years! This place is awesome! Always fresh & delicious food. Always friendly, attentive staff/owners. So glad we have such a great local restaurant!

We’ve eaten here twice. Both times we’ve said«we should eat here more often»…The owner was there both times and is very friendly and accommodating. I think Libby said it well, when noting it’s «americanized». If you know that going in, you should NOT be disappointed. If you are looking for authentic, hit West Washington street, not Greenwood. That being said, Lucero’s is definitely a step up from your standard«American/Mexican» restaurant. I had some variation on an enchilada both times. It doesn’t matter what you get in them, but make sure you get the sweeter enchilada sauce. I thought it was delicious. Rice is just rice, but the beans are pretty tasty. We also had the carnitas verdes. Meat was fall off the fork tender and very flavorful. We also indulged in the queso fundido with chorizo. Their chorizo is really good. Margaritas? Yes please. The owner made them with pride. He did a good job. Best margarita I’d had in a long time. Adding this place to our Mexican rotation!

One of the better«traditional Mexican» restaurants I’ve been to. They have terrific salsa. Their menu has the usual favorites plus a few unique items like(my favorite) the enchiladas with onions, peppers, squash, and zucchini.

We’ve been looking for a good Mexican restaurant for quite a while, and this is the best we’ve eaten at in three years. The abundant complimentary chips were fresh and hot, coming with very tasty salsa. The chicken mole, chile rellenos, and fajita burritos along with the rice and beans were great.

We were expecting better quality food based on local reviews. Seems like cooks used less fresh ingrediants so food was bland. Not nearly enough garlic, butter or sauce on mojo d’ajo & shrimp small and small portioned overall. Forgot guacamole & dressing too. Out of several items early Friday. Mole sauce ok but tasted sweet & quick cooked. Beans too watery. Service just ok but polite. Not what we expected but maybe what«the locals» like.

Why did we eat here? The menu looked good. The reviews from Unilocal and other sources seemed promising. We ordered the beef enchilade mole and al mojo de ajo. I wanted to try the apple soda, they were out of that. I then chose another flavored soda, out of that too. Huh. The complimentary chips were warm, but stale. The salsa was average at best. The garlic shrimp were ok, but the black beans served with it were minimal and tasteless. Best part of the meal was the mole. The sides of rice and beans were bland. The beans watery also and lifeless. Won’t waste another trip here.
