Not much of a story other than my mother and I was driving to Louisiana for my photography gig and decided to stop by and check things out. It was decent– ya’ know your normal junk sale. I don’t plan on going back, but hey if you’re ever driving stop by and check things out for yourself, they may have things you like.

Today while shopping here my wife received a phone from our credit card company, they told us our card had been turned into the front office. Some good person had found the card and turned it in. The front office took the time to call the company and let them know. Whoever did turn it in THANKYOUVERYMUCH and thanks to the guys in the front office for notifying us.

As a life-long fan of garage sales, estate sales, junk shops and antique malls, one of my absolute favorite places on Earth is the Greenwood Flea Market in Greenwood, La. Located just off of Exit 5 on I-20, the Greenwood Flea Market consists of a very large, U-shaped indoor facility housing dozens of shops. The area outside of the facility, a paved area covered by junk in places, provides additional spaces for vendors. I’d guess that there are 60 – 70 shops, some of which are located down winding paths and inside of old train cars on the east side of the complex. If this all sounds like quite an adventure to explore, that’s because it is. It may not be everyone’s idea of a great flea market, but it suits me just fine.

While most of the vendors appear to have beaten the trash truck to most items for sale, there are great deals to be found. We went on a Saturday Morning in early May and only about half the stalls were open selling a broad selection of goods from fine china to what appeared to be scrap metal. Have fun, take your time, explore and hopefully you will come away with some great treasures.
