Love this place. Great food and even better service. Not your typical sports bar, just a great place to take family and friends. We split an order of calamari and a turkey wrap and we could barely finish it. Plan on going back soon.

We came in late on Monday and the the place was not very busy. Decided to try the special: grilled Mahi Mahi with mango salsa and Alaskan crab risotto plus corn on the cob. I was not expecting anything special but I was presently surprised when the waitress placed a plate in front of me. The piece of fish was a nice size and was done just the right way; juicy and full of flavor. Risotto was decent and had a lot of pieces of crab mixed in. I have rated my dinner at 4 out of 5 stars but adding an extra star for piece of FREE apple pie(another Monday special) which was very good and the overall price. The beer selection at the bar was very decent and they had local brews plus some micro brews from Midwest including 3Floyds. The bar area has many large screen TVs and the staff had no problem changing channels to accommodate us.

Very consistently good place. Good food and knowledgable friendly staff. If I had the time I would a regular. Maybe when I retire. I think this is the best bar/restaurant south of Indy.

This was actually pretty good, stopped by on a Wed afternoon, was planning on eating someplace else but due to time constraints pulled in here. My problem with going to a brewery and not drinking is the fact I want to drink when I come to places like this, however business. Ordered the grilled lamb chops, creamed potatoes and side salad, wife got the grilled turkey salad and a cup of clam chowder. Kind of a deconstructed clam chowder, wife liked it, I’m old school, lamb came out in small chops(5) with a basil pesto on top of whipped potatoes. Was expecting 2 large chops but liked this better, grilled perfect, no fat to speak of, the spuds like mom whips up on Thanksgiving. Butter. Wife’s salad was huge, nice mixture of greens topped with grilled turkey, took some home to eat. Service here was swift, everything came out in an orderly manner, waiter competent. I ate here yrs ago when it first opened and thought it was ok but forgettable, this was a step up from that. Good job fireside.

I really liked this place for a mainstream type of sports bar. No confusing menu, and very nice staff. Good beer selection and the food is great. Perfect for an easy evening with coworkers

I had been long awaiting when we would try Fireside and was sadly disappointed when the fire was the smallest little pit near the door and now visible in the seating area(I love fire pits). I tried the veg head after seeing many reviews of it– and it was okay. There were a lot of flavors fighting for my attention(mushroom, avocado, feta, spinach cake, and onion). It was a little pricey for what everything is but would go back if friends wanted to go.

They have the best pork chop in town! You have to try the Ancho glazed Pork Chop, you will not be disappointed! Not to mention some of the best bartenders in town!

Had a group of 23 people there for a birthday party. Staff didn’t miss a beat and took care of the whole group as if were a table of two. Awesome job!

I enjoyed my Bayou Bowl and IPA, but mom was not impressed with her ribs. The cole slaw was underdressed and mom’s corn-on-the-cob was a mushy mess but the seasoned fries are very tasty. Service was attentive and portions adequate though somewhat pricey..

Just order a Thin Lizzie turkey burger + Parmesan risotto and call it a day. It’s so tasty! Really, though, there are a lot of great options. The portion sizes are generous and I’ve always had good food experiences here. The back room is okay, but I prefer to sit in the main area. We just happened to be next to a rambunctious group in the same room. Not a big deal! Check Groupon as they sometimes offer deals to this great local spot.

Their food is quite delicious. The loaded potatoes with chili are just perfection, but it’s cheese and cards. Not hard to mess up. I ordered the pulled pork, and it was easily some of the better pulled pork I’ve had at a restaurant. It was flavorful, and perfectly moist but not chewy. It was on, basically a Texas toast situation, which definitely didn’t hurt anything. My boyfriend ordered the Mahi Mahi and was thoroughly disappointed. It was cold, and tasted more like mango than anything else, even when he asked and was told the mango was a slight improvement to the fish. As for our service, it was unbelievably slacking. It took us 5 minutes to get seated. We watched another couple get seated and then they never came back for us. Finally we asked someone and they said«someone will seat you shortly». We were finally sat in the bar section, where we were promptly asked by our waitress if we were 21+. Uhh, we didn’t get a choice where we sat. We sat next to the loud couple in the place, furiously ranting about politics, not that I mind, but not my ideal dinner situation to overhear… loudly. We asked to be moved and we yet were ignored. Our food came, our waitress put it on the table, and stormed off. …we were left with no silverware. We had to hunt someone down to get silverware. I had to ask 3 times before my drink got refilled, and was never asked even when it went empty again. My boyfriend got a new drink as were paying the check… I get maybe she was having a day, but… wow.

After speaking with the manager, and being assured that all of the issues below are in the process of being corrected, I am taking my review from a one to a three. The fact that the manager acknowledged my complaint and seemed genuine in speaking with me says volumes. Perhaps when we revisit in the spring, enough time will have passed to allow for improved service. My last and final visit to Fireside was disappointing to say the least. Positives: No wait to be seated on Saturday at 7pm Negatives: –Horribly awkward waiter –Taste was sub par for price –Music played throughout restaurant was hard core rap music that described sexually explicit acts(this was at 8pm and children were in the restaurant) –overall lack of class throughout –completely 180 from when it opened –no noticeable management present

I don’t understand all the negative reviews on Unilocal.I have been here over 5 times, some alone some with a group. The service is usually good but the management is responsive to poor service. I have never had bad food. Some food wasn’t to my tasting but not because it was bad. Be cautious on the less then five reviews members that only put out negative reviews, they help no one.

Eh, it’s alright. Maybe it was an off night but the atmosphere was really sort of boring/slow for a Friday night. They played nothing but slow country music, which was putting me to sleep. They do not have a drink menu for martinis and stuff. When I did order a drink the bartender messed it up. How you can mess up a Grey Goose Cosmo is beyond me. So I sent that back. Glad I didn’t order anything complicated. Grey Goose and Tonic was my safety net. The food was good. No complaints there. The staff was friendly as well. I don’t think I will go back. It’s just not my scene.

Food was good. Atmosphere was good. Service was disappointing. My friend and I walked in this evening and two employees who were standing near the door quickly walked away and went to a nearby table to chat. I finally approached them and asked one of them if we needed to seat ourselves. She told us no and took us to a table in her section. We had some basic questions about the beers on tap that she was unable to answer nor did she offer to find out. I asked for menu recommendations and she told me she was too hungover to think about food. She did manage to finally give us a couple recommendations. Our appetizer came out — M80 shrimp. It was delicious. And then my salad was delivered 30 seconds later. We were under the impression that our server could have cared less which is a shame because we were both extremely happy with our food. I would probably give this place a second chance. I’ll just cross my fingers that I don’t get a hungover server next time.

Recently just moved to Greenwood and Fireside Brewery caught both me and my boyfriend’s eye! We love craft beer so we thought this place would be a hit. We went there with my mother who had never been there before either and had less than a great experience. The service was poor, she was not rude or mean, but she just did not seem well informed at all. We even told her we had never been there before and she said«that’s okay». We went on a Thursday and it was $ 3 pints, however she did not explain the beer specials and the beer I happened to order was not on the special and she did not inform me of that. When j asked her if Fireside brewed their own beer she told me they did not and that she did not know much about the beer there. That would have been an appropriate time to have told me that she was knew(if she even was new). The food was okay, yea, just«okay». It wasn’t amazing but it wasn’t bad just okay. I had the turkey and avocado burger but my mom had chicken Alfredo which was pretty good in my opinion, however, We spent most of the time swatting the little gnats away from our table.

This is one of my favorite places on the south side, the food is great! 20 beers on tap. Mostly craft beers, try the blackened blue cheese burger, one of the best I’ve had. April and Sarah are great at the bar. Ask for them. I have no complaints except there’s no skewers at the Bloody Mary bar.

This place has potential, but seems to squander it on WAY too expensive of standard fare dishes and sub-par musical selections for live shows. The last time we went there was an old geezer yodeling and he brought a posse of what seemed to be aged groupies with him. It was odd, off-putting, and to top it off my wife and I only had ONE appetizer(the nachos) and 2 drinks. The bill: $ 40. There was nothing worth $ 20 that we had, much less twice that. Oh, did I mention we had a GROUPON on top of the exorbitant price we paid? Talk about ridiculous pricing. Bartender didn’t seem to care we were there, and when we sent the nachos back the first time because they were cold, we(incorrectly) expected them to be remade properly. Nope, they tossed the same dish into the microwave for 30 seconds, and that’s exactly what it tasted like. Microwaved Walmart tortillas and dry shredded chicken topped with Kraft cheese. Save $ 40 and do all this at home.
