Eyebrows By Afraa

Probably the best threading place I’ve been to. I’ve been there about 4 or 5 times now and every time I love it. I would recommend to anyone. The people don’t talk to you much (that may just be me though) but other than that it’s amazing especially considering the price!

I really am impressed with their service. Got every hair! The price is fair too. I have had different threaders each time and have always been pleased.

This service here was really good, quick and a outcome of my eyebrows were great. I definitely to see myself coming back here as I needed a theader place on the southside.

Not a good look so far its 11:12 and they’re still not open. I hope they’re better with eyebrows then they are with punctuality!

Very nice friendly service. Stood in the lobby for a few minutes before they realized I was there — noon on a Thursday. Shaped my eyebrows well, but a little thicker at the base than I’m used to getting in Chicago. Offered me aloe afterwards which was very sweet and greatly reduced the redness and breakout I normally get after threading. She said it was due to my fair skin and eyes — nice to have an explanation!

Quick, easy and lasts longer than waxing. The staff is really nice and they have a kids area, which was helpful. My eyebrows look wonderful and I left happy.

The owner and staff are super nice! I prefer threading on my eyebrows to waxing and they make it fast and as quick as they can and do a wonderful job at shaping my eyebrows.

First off, I would like to say that in the beginning of me finding this place I did go regularly to have my eyebrows & eyelashes done. Afraa didn’t know how to do eyelashes so she had the girl that worked for her do my eyelashes. Sapna (the girl who worked there) WAS GREAT! She applied lashes perfectly and they felt natural, weren’t heavy, all around PERFECT. I also loved the way Sapna threaded so I preferred to see Sapna over Afraa. Afraa didn’t like that at all. She began asking for customers phone numbers, she tried pressuring me into having her do my eyebrows and that Sapna could do my eyelashes… I stopped going because she became so overbearing. And then she kept calling me, leaving me messages as to why I wasn’t coming anymore … Afraa will be the fall of her own business. She needs to know customers come and go … She can’t stalk you because you stop coming. She also charges you $ 1 to use a credit card. (it’s 2012, come on EVERYONE uses credit/​debit cards) I highly advise against going to this place! DO NOT GIVE HER YOUR PHONE NUMBER IF YOU DO!!! She will stalk you!

I haven’t been to Afraa since she opened her new place, but I went to her almost exclusively for four years. She is the best eyebrow threader I’ve had — she knows exactly how to shape my brows, she remembers my face, and she tells me what I need to hear. I wish she lived in Chicago so I could keep going to her forever.
For those who are skeptical of eyebrow threading, I am a HUGE baby but I think it’s less painful than waxing. My hair grows super fast but I go every 2 – 3 weeks and my brows look perfect every time. The thread follows the contour of your browbone, so it ends up being the perfect brow shape for your face.
Afraa pays attention and knows what will look good on you. She doesn’t try to sell you things that will look silly or are unnecessary. She doesn’t do extra swipes so it goes really fast.
Afraa, if you ever move to Chicago please let me know. I will drive all over town for you.
